I think the most important thing is that your employment history in your CPB matches your SS earnings statement, which proves you actually worked there and paid taxes for it.

The rest is just window dressing IMHO.
Cool. Not trying to sweat them.

Yeah I have to agree. I worked for a company 5 years ago which doesn't exist anymore. I listed it in my intake packet but there's obviously no way they will recieve any letters but the dates of employment were confirm on the detail earnings report

I know money is always an issue....but do yourself a favor, and buy a beater. Who care's what it is, so long as it has 4 wheels and an engine. Public transit to and from Proby School sucks. The days are long enough as it is.

i'm glad you brought this up, because i was considering buying a beater. especially after i saw that the drive time from my house to randall's island is less than half of the public transit travel time. i hear what you're saying about the long days, and i'm not trying to make things any more difficult than they can be. thanks.

I'm considering a beater for the academy. Maybe even try to sell it for someone in the next academy. Insurance is a biotch tho.
Also thought about just renting something. Idk.
Is it really 9 weeks 5:50a roll call and 9 weeks of 6:50a roll call? Plus a week in the field?

This is the best answer. If money really makes it a bad idea you could take transit the first few days and see if someone in your company (alpha or bravo) is coming from roughly the same area. If you are in the 5 boroughs there's a good chance you're relatively close to someone.

The switching between roll calls is not really planned in that way. Plus you have no way to predict where you will go for your week, or when assigned for that matter.
