Man you thinking way ahead. I think people should focus on the physical and also worry about list numbers. Once I see mine I will go to my courthouse and get my dispositions. I've made mistakes and I'm not the only one plus I spoke to a lawyer who said I have violations only and that's it. If you have felonies then you won't be hired. He said read the noe it should state this. He didn't even read the noe and he told me this. If I have any problems I will contact him, he's a very good lawyer and I'm gonna take his word for it. But for now I'll train even harder to not just pass the physical but more for the medical. I suggest you guys do the same s h I t.

This has to be one of the stupidest posts I've ever read. Im not arguing with someone who has no clue what they are talking about. I'm trying to give guys an idea of what the process is like because I've been through it. Know your place cause it's obvious you have no respect for anyone on the job trying to give REAL information. Good luck if you actually get on this job cause you're in for a rude awakening. I got on the job in 2005. That's back in the days? You really think things are that different in 7 years? They've been hiring off a civil service lists for decades. "An irish guy who knew a battalion chief?" Really? LMAO!!! You have obviously never set foot in a firehouse and seen the cast of characters that exist Mr. Goodie too shoes. I hope the rest of the guys on this forum don't listen to a word this guy says. That's all I'll say on the subject.

I went through the investigation with the last group from 6019 that didn't get hired. What was that 2009-10 not sure anymore. Same process. Nothing different. Your either are cleared once they see everything or not. If not, your paper work goes before a committee or something and they review everything and come up with a result. If you're not in compliance with all the paperwork, you're in a different boat.

Please stop posting nonsense. Your wasting our time reading your usless opinions. You dont know what you are talking about. Are you trying to discourage people from going through the process? If someone doesnt get hired for spitting then so be it, your opinion has been heard now move on.

I'm just giving a written explanation of my experience. Take a few minutes and read the forums about the last few years . No one has gotten hired since the 08 class. 300+ were cleared for the run and the mayor stopped everything due to the court ruling. Since then all we've been doing is hoping, praying and waiting for another shot. I see you jump around from Forum to forum posting. Read back a bit and educate yourself on what's been going on before the unnecessary comments. That sarcasm ain't gonna get you far as a probie… my honest opinion. But dont take my word for it… lol

Takethedoor - thanks very much for your insights. As you've seen and experienced, the thread can be overpopulated with people who like to (figuratively) hear themselves speak, even when they're talking out of their @$$es. Getting good info from people who actually know what they're talking about (and have been through the process we're all starting) is invaluable. Thanks for sending some signal in a forum full of noise.

Why would someone who wants to be a fireman make fun of others who also want to be fireman? I know that the internet provides a lot of anonymity but come on, do you really need to harass other people who are simply thanking someone for providing some advice?Last edited by FDNY2000; 05-14-2012 at 08:22 AM.

just got back from my review. Very encouraged with my results. Between the video and reading comp parts I got all questions right but 1. On that question I selected two answers, one of my selections was the correct answer, and another selection was wrong. Not sure if I'll get PC for that or NC.
On the personality I received 4 PC's, and the rest FC.
I was ****ed you couldn't go back and review sections after you closed them out. They said that in advance so it's no surprise, but I don't see why they care how you review the exam.
I didn't protest any of the Q's I received less than FC on.

How long are the protest reviews running for ? Also for the guys who took the 6019 exam, how did you find out and how long did it take for you to find out if your protest of a questions was successful ?

Seems like general consensus is guys are fairly happy with their scores so far? Wish I could make it up for the review but the trip in March to take the test went a little over budget!!
