Guys in the academy: how often do you need to iron your uniform? Worth investing in one of those garment steamers for the shirts? Spend $$$ for dry cleaning? Do the DIs expect crisp shirts everyday?

Only limitation is that you can't create a crease (pants) with a steamer. OK I guess I'll pick one up. I'll tell my girl its for her so it counts as a gift haha.

Its basically a foregone conclusion at this point ... anyone from 1950 to 2600 has a great shot at the upcoming class.

2700 - 2800 is lofty, but possible. Everyone above that is slated for the Winter class in 9 months.

Lol careful with all that guys.
On another note heard from my investigator recently and he said files are going upstairs for review. So the process is moving along. Keep training and stay on top of your paperwork.

I used to smoke hookah on a weekly basis. I just recently stopped since people say its as bad as smoking a pack of cigs. Hopefully it helps me improve on my stamina and breathing.

Your pee test is for drugs, your blood test is not. Hopefully you stopped smoking 30 days before you take a ****.

Anybody in this round of CPATs hear from a mentor? It's probably early for that correct? And If CPATs are 4-6 weeks, most of us guys in the 3XXXs should be done and waiting for the run letter this winter

Signed up over the phone last week and haven't heard anything yet. Does one just get assigned to you and call you?

Man I hope you're right! I'm mid 3400's and I'm praying that I get into this winter class!

This. This thread is absolutely monitored by someone at HQ. I doubt the intent there is malicious, but don't be stupid.

Also props to the guy picking up the garbage. The auditorium is your firehouse when you're in proby school. You wouldn't just through your ****ing garbage on the floor of your kitchen would you? You shouldn't do it at the rock either.

It's also probably not a good idea to talk back to the head DI at CPAT orientation, but that's just a suggestion.

The lady from HQ that gave the mentor briefing on Monday night said that the goal was to assign a mentor within 4-6 weeks of receiving the application. I would assume this is to line right up as we take the CPAT.

It's also because they gave her 1500 new candidates to line up with mentors, a process that isn't automated.
