My friend took the exam and he isn't in hiring range but he didn't get the residency credits even though he's lived in the city his entire life. Is there anyone he can contact to try and correct this ?

Start training everyone!! Don't celebrate for too long.
FDsouthbxNY, what would you recommend as a base level of fitness to walk into the academy and be considered to be prepared? For example: 3, 4, 5 miles a day at what pace? Any suggestions in general besides running and high rep low weight exercise? Thank you for any advice you can provide.

List # 14xx Score 101
Same score last time and it pushed me back almost more than 300 numbers.
Kinda ****ed but what can you do. At least I'm still in hiring range as long as hiring is done in rank order and without the lottery system being discussed with the quotas. Time will tell at this point I guess.

Got a 96 Im near the top of the 96 scores. Broken hearted but hey not bad for an out of state guy. Atleast for my only shot I can say I almost had it. Maybe.
Good luck everyone. Hope everyone gets in who have been posting and kick some hella ***.

I've been reading these posts for many, many months and helped me from going insane over this whole process. Got a 98 and the number is 604X. Not what I was expecting, especially after the protest session, but hopefully in that range to get called.
Good luck to all.

So let me get this straight. Just so that I'm clear, 7000 is still considered within hiring range?
Test 2000
Score 97
List#700X
Do I stand a chance?
I will not tire, I will not falter, and I will not fail!!!

The city said they anticipate going up to list number 9000. That's going by the old ratio of 1/2 for EMS promos and 1/3 or 1/4 for OC candidates. The only class from 6019 went into the 800's to make that class. And the top is probably the cream of the crop so the further down the list you go the more candidates they probably go through to fill a class. It will probably be a few years but I would say the dream is still alive for you.

I'm looking on The Chief and it says to view the complete list, click on the PDF file to the left. There isn't a file to click. Any suggestions?

Specifically from the law department press release they believe that anyone with a 97 or better aka list #8548 or higher "have a likelihood of being considered for appointment" so I would say that 7000 is definitely within range, just with a longer wait.
Per another memo with a rough hiring range of 650 per year, 650 x 4 is 2,600, and assuming 3:1 ratio, 2,600 x 3 = 7,800
all roughly speaking
