Guys in the promo said they were told 5 months, when they were at the rock for orientation. Something about peace officer training I think, don't really remember. But it's definitely 5 months.

Got a 94 without any extra points. Listed in the 14,000's. Really wanted this job. Is there any way I can see my actual test and answer key?

Congratulations to all who did well on the exam! Many of you have been anxiously awaiting these results and are going to soon become Fireman. For those of you who seem to know a little more about this process, what is the likelihood of this list reaching above 8000 on the list. I know the release statest that the top 8500 have a shot but does anyone know or think the list will actually go that high??

Same here, got a 94 no extra points. If the cpat wasn't pass/fail I feel I could have easily gotten a higher score with the combined two. Its sad how they put away with that and made the written your only shot in. How do they expect somebody to run a mile and a half in the academy under 13 mins if they had a tough time with the cpat? A mile and a half is easy for some, but for others its a death wish.

We've been told the academy will be 20 weeks long. They had settled on 18, however they then had to go back and add 2 weeks for peace officer training.

They seem to set on trying to promote a class in January, and then are projecting that they would put another class in in June or July.

Interesting. Has peace officer training always been a part of the academy? what is the theory behind all FDNY being peace officer status?

I believe it's always been a part of it, just the state mandated more training hours so now it's a full 2 weeks instead of however many days it used to be. I am not an expert on why firefighters are peace officers, but I know it's that title that allows them to write tickets for things related to the firehouse/building codes/etc. I've also heard supposedly the peace officer status is the way they are legally able to break into someone's house when it appears warranted? I believe it's also a NYS law that all career FFs be peace officers. I'm not an expert though.

List in the low 6000's with a 98. Shame I didn't have any points. From you guy's professional opinions is there a reason to post here anymore? (Aside from being a cheerleader for yous lol.)

Right click your .pdf page. Select "find" at the top left a box will pop up. Type in your last name and click through the material until you recognize your first name. Good luck
