just running some numbers here, IF they were to hire 600 people a year for 4 years with a 1:4 ratio they would get to around 9,600 on the list. IF it was a 1:5 ratio it would be somewhere around 12,000 and IF it was a 1:3 ratio it would be 7200. All of those numbers were run without taking into account the promotional list and the 293 "entitled" applicants....Quote:

Can someone school me on how to search for somebody's name on the list without scrolling through the vastness of it? I am searching for someone I used to know. Something to do with F3 or adobe reader or some sh1t? I am on a mac if it makes a difference. Thanks...

Since when is Merit Matters the whole FDNY? Even before the FDNY got sued in 07, the FDNY, not Merit Matters, had already decided on the CPAT. This is nothing new! The NOE for this exam has been out for almost a year and a half and now people want to argue about a competitive physical? The overwhelming majority of the fire fighters in the Fire dept got on with a competitive physical, they value that part of the test, argue with all of them if you disagree.

As I said a graded physical would have been great but thats not what we were given. We must deal with it as candidates and the FDNY must deal with it because it was their decision.

How could you already know what peoples opinion would be if they didn't do well?

It's a little rough reading comment after comment on here hoping other people fail out of the process. I understand if you're on this forum you want this job bad, but when you start wishing someone elses dream falls through, it just doesn't sound right.
