Hey Medic quick question... I heard a rumor that during the swear ins someone was sleeping in the front row. PLEASE tell me this is true!!! Lol
Hahaha. Falling asleep while the mayor and the commissioner are giving their speech. What a tool.
edit: Also for god's sake the felon thing is such old news, that was being discussed 6 months ago. The recent Post story is them blowing smoke and total BS. There is a process for someone to go through, and I'm sure it is not easy. As other's have said the person also has to contend with NYS DOH letting them gain CFR certification, which is another hurdle. I'm sure no serious felon is going to clear this process, so if there is someone out there who is otherwise qualified in every way and can jump through all the steps to get their felony behind them I say great for them. You know what helps keep recidivism rates high? The fact that once you've got a mark on your record it gets exponentially harder to pick up and land a stable, decent job. JMHO.
Im currently running under 10 mins in the 1.5 so I kno cardio isn't an issue and never was. I'm probably gonna mix up the heavy weights 6-12 reps with lighter weights 12-20plus reps just to get the best of both worlds.
Hope all is well!
I saw in the Daily News today page 18 about Bloomberg budget cuts of 70 billion and his plan to close 20 fire companies. Does this impact the hiring for us that took the exam or is that something on a different scale?
Did everyone else get the stuff to sign up for the cpat sessions and mentorship program?
Just received an email about the CPAT prep and mentorship program. Seems like the ball is beginning to roll.
Yep, I got it as well.
I got the email too. AMPED
my guess would be maybe top 500-800 since they have leftover emts. I also like to trick my mind into not being so positive and optimistic about this whole process haha.
got the email!!!!
I got the email also. So does anybody know what actually goes on at these information sessions. Do we get to do any physical practice of the CPAT, or is it all just verbal information and advice that they give us?
It starts slow and easy; lectures about diet and exercise on your own time, and showing you what the test consists of. From there, youll do one event at a time with no extra weight, progressing to wearing the weight and doing multiple events, until the end when you run the full course for time with the vest.
Then after all that, you will be miles away from the fitness levels you will need to be at for Day 1 at the Rock.
--> Im assuming youre talking about the 12 week cpat prep. If its just an oreintation/info session, then probably just talking.
from the wording of the email it sounds like it's only going to people they plan on processing, or beginning the process for, sometime in the first half of 2013.
At 78X ... no email.
Good to hear the ball is rolling!
List # 11XX and no e-mail
I'm sitting around 1200 and haven't gotten anything yet (didn't expect to this early). But I'm so friggin pumped to hear that people in the top 600 have gotten info! Congrats guys! This looks like the timeline for a June class were accurate. Things look like they are moving forward for the OC!
