Curious to hear how it goes - let us know what additional paperwork they ask for, how many candidates are there, if you run into any issues… good luck!

I will be doing the Spartan sprint at citi as well. Unfortunately being the Mets fan that I am, it will not be my first time there. haha

p.s.- Anyone from the bx doing some running outside?

I know all too well how overhyped it is. Hence why I've yet to waste my money going there. The opportunity to do an obstacle course race on a major league field(even though the team that plays on it isn't quite major league caliber) is one I couldn't pass up.

P.s. Before my little dig at the Mets turns into an all out verbal assault it was just a joke. Pm me all your gripes so they can be ignored accordingly.

Where in the Bronx do you run? I haven't been running for the last few weeks but I've been doing a lot of really high intensity cardio at home. Just giving the legs a break from the impact for a bit. I'll be running again soon though and like I've said before I'm always down to run with someone. Back on 6019 a few of us on here used to meet up at the rock to do the run together as we got closer to the possible class dates. I'm down to do that as well even though I prob won't get a call until after the summer.

Normally I run at either Van Courtland or Pelham bay. When the weather gets better I would like to start running at Orchard beach so I could enjoy the scenery. lol Treadmills doesn't do it for me anymore.

Orchard beach is great for all it has to offer. Pelham bay park has some decent trail running as well. Van cortlandt is my favorite by far because of all the different trail running variations and hills. It's just such a pain for me to drive all the way over there just to get a run in. I'm down though. Just hit me up when you want to get out there.

I second that hell yes. I have a friend who said the Wilpons ruined the "white trash element that used to keep us going by building Citi." hahaha. I kind of agree. And check out 7line t-shirts if you're a Mets fan man. They're sick haha

It seems like the city and its lawyers are lying down on this priority hire issue. They've saved themselves some money and that's all they seem to care about (or they feel its not worth the controversy). But seeing as how every single person in the top 9000 of this open competitive list is directly effected if the PHs get hired shouldn't we organize something? At least a protest?

Seems like we should be able to get a very large and very diverse group of people from the OC to mobilize on this. Whether you got a 107 on this test and you are getting thrown into a class with these guys, a 103 and are having your dream job pushed back for 6-7 months, or a 97 and might get pushed off the list, we are all effected.

No one has as much to lose by this as we do and the public doesn't know because this is all just quietly happening. At least we can make some noise about it.

They will be doing a few screenings of the film "BURN" in the NY area in March. BURN is a feature documentary about Detroit, told through the eyes of Detroit firefighters, who are charged with the thankless task of saving a city that many have written off as dead. It would most definitely mean a lot to the guys who made the film if people showed up. If they don't sell enough tickets, they will likely have to cancel some screenings. Just FYI...

Wow that's a pretty good trailer. Some one should have asked them on film how they felt about someone who who couldn't make the cut 10 years ago coming on their job now.

Lets do something before they come out with a decision? Not sure where I read or heard it today but some one was saying that appeals judges do actually pay attention to the media.
