    i'm not positive but i think you are forced to sign an authorization allowing them access to all medical records as part of the medical/background investigation.

    No there is'nt..only if it was an arrest. A summons without an arrest and/or conviction need not be listed. However, ALL arrest must be listed no matter what the outcome was.

    No. There is a seperate sheet for military, so i would only place it there, if not just to show that you can follow directions but i dont think they would shake their heads if you mention it twice.

    However, i have 3 years active duty and 5 years National Guard. So i placed the National Guard info in the employment section and saved the active duty info for the actual militart sheet.

    There is a section at the bottom of the military form which ask if you are CURRENTLY national guard or reserve only. I was released from Guard duty in 2010 which is why i placed Guard duty in the employment section.

    I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you read page 6 of the CPD Guide lines it says " Start with your present job and work back to the time you left high school. Do not omit any jobs or required information."

    So to me that would mean to include military under the employment section as well as under the military section.

    Im sure they wont care if you mention it in both places, but they usually reserve those pages for civilian employment. Military service always requires a different section for job applications like these. Regular civilian job applications rarely seperate military from civilian work history. But it definetely helps to have a seperate page for military if you have a long history of civilian employment to list as well i.e more than 8 civilian jobs.

    As I recall, you will have to sign something affirming that all of the information you've written down is truthful and accurate in regards to your medical history, and that they are allowed to see your records if needed. I don't know if they automatically look, but I'm 99% sure that they require you to give them permission.

    Question for the guys going through the process right now and pertaining to your medical history. Do you need to list your current doctor because I kinda don't have one. As a matter of fact I haven't been to a doctor since I was in high school, I think. I'm 28 so it's been a while. I went to the hospital once a couple of years ago because I had severe tooth pain on Thanksgiving but that was just receding gums which sensodyne fixed so I don't think that would keep me off the job. But can my lack of habing a doctor or being to the doctor in the past several years cause me any problems come investigation time ?

    Just pick a doctor if you have coverage and go get a physical, FDNY or not, always good to get one.

    FDNY pairing mentors up with people of the same race is not helping matters like the article said. I could care less who my mentor is, as long as that ff helps me out when I need it.
    BTW, there should be a lawsuit, merritt matters, etc. thread. This way, your post won't get lost in this thread, instead this one can be a information thread for Exam #2000, and you have your own to post and vent. Just a thought.....

    That merit matters article is extremely good as always. It's getting juicer each time.

    Did any one answer the question on wether herniated Discs that are not longer a problem are a DQ?

    The sent packets out to everyone through a 103 so list number wise it was somewhere in the 700's.

    It's all speculation, but the obvious assumption would be that that is how many candidates they thought they'd safely need to be able to fill the July class. Not that the July class is going to include all of those candidates - with Promos and PH it might not include any, for all we know. But does it matter, anyway? That many got packages and are going through investigation now. The line is moving. That is what matters, IMO.

    Probably because through 104 didn't give them enough guys to process to possibly get a new class and going all the way down to 102 would be way too many.

    Once again, d***, you just don't get it. And you never will. First off, EVERY man on this job has had tough enough of a time that they've been to see counseling. No shame in it, and certainly no weakness.

    Second, ask around if you ever actually get on; you'll find dozens of guys who didn't pass the psych for PD. And, just for the record, the guy who failed me was recently canned by PD for failing combat vets out of turn. ALL of them, myself included, have either been cleared for the job or are already on this one.

    Finally, and I do mean finally little fella, I have a ton more respect for anyone who had a tough time with the physical part of the process yet rose to meet the standard than some pompous *** like yourself who crows about your washboard abs. I don't really care what all your "friends" you have on the job say; I AM on the job, and I've already proven I've got what it takes. YOU are the one who has to prove yourself now, not me. You will never be a "brother", so you don't have to worry about me calling you one.

    Oh ok ... So since its base on a speculation that means it can also go the other way in which they might need to process more people to complete a class??? Once again just asking
