It seems like the city and its lawyers are lying down on this priority hire issue. They've saved themselves some money and that's all they seem to care about (or they feel its not worth the controversy). But seeing as how every single person in the top 9000 of this open competitive list is directly effected if the PHs get hired shouldn't we organize something? At least a protest?
Seems like we should be able to get a very large and very diverse group of people from the OC to mobilize on this. Whether you got a 107 on this test and you are getting thrown into a class with these guys, a 103 and are having your dream job pushed back for 6-7 months, or a 97 and might get pushed off the list, we are all effected.
No one has as much to lose by this as we do and the public doesn't know because this is all just quietly happening. At least we can make some noise about it.
Hey I am all for that...would love to organize something against these clowns that have zero leg to stand on.
What can we even do?
does anyone have the conviction page of the cpd-b application (section III)??? and didnt fill it out yet??? Think I might have misplaced mine at the library today... I have another one coming in the mail but no idea how long its gonna take... shoot me an email if possible firstname.lastname@example.org ...

They will be doing a few screenings of the film "BURN" in the NY area in March. BURN is a feature documentary about Detroit, told through the eyes of Detroit firefighters, who are charged with the thankless task of saving a city that many have written off as dead. It would most definitely mean a lot to the guys who made the film if people showed up. If they don't sell enough tickets, they will likely have to cancel some screenings. Just FYI...
Wow that's a pretty good trailer. Some one should have asked them on film how they felt about someone who who couldn't make the cut 10 years ago coming on their job now.
1) File an "amicus curiae" brief with the Second Circuit which is basically a brief explaining how the case will effect us as a group and how we'd like to see it turn out
2) Write an editorial in a major newspaper and hope to gain attention
