Yea I think they did. But the video portion gave them some problems with the sound. I felt good about this whole thing. Gonna brush up on the math and background questions. It can get a little tricky so now is the time to learn all of these forms of questions. It's crunch time people gotta put in work.

On the hw I saw percentages square roots um... Fractions multiplication division add subtraction etc...
They had mentioned to really focus on the background ques because they believe that's where they are going to catch candidates. Next chance you get go to one of the meetings. They will give you a nice fat text book looking booklet. Deff worth the 20 bucks I highly recommend it.

I thought it was a pretty good turnout. White, Black, Asian and some women. We filled the auditorium up. Celebrity sighting... asian guy from 6019 candidate video. I think that was "My1Goal." :-). Ill be back next monday for Lesson Plan B. They also confirmed that DCAS was going to do a free prep so be on the look out. April 13th here I come!

The sessions was two hours long. They made it real clear no calculators and no phones are allowed at the test site. I even asked for a refund for the cram course I paid for. This was a better turnout deffently.

Hey Chrome, I'll be there with my $20 bucks in hand. Wearing a blue button down and khakis.

Here you go buddy. Keep in mind session A is all the same three classes. Session B will be a different lesson plan but again all three will be the same lesson plan.

Firefighter Exam Tutorial Classes from the FDNY Vulcan Society

    Greetings firefighter candidate,

This message is from the Vulcan Society, the organization of NYC's Black firefighters. Founded in 1940, we have been involved in everything from desegregating firehouses in the 1940's and 50's, to helping establish the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters in 1970, to our recent efforts to help diversify the FDNY. Towards that end, we have for decades provided tutoring to Black candidates like yourself who are about to take the FDNY firefighter entrance exam. We will be providing tutoring for your upcoming exam as well.

Two separate lesson plans will be taught, and you will be given work to take home. Both lesson plans will cover all subjects you will see on your test. Your instructors will be Black FDNY fire officers and firefighters. The study material was prepared by professional fire test developers and experienced NYC firefighters.

We believe – as we have been told in the past – that our tutoring will be the best tutoring available at any cost! A one-time fee of $20 (just to cover our costs) allows you to attend as often as you like.

Because there will be so much competition for this great career, a very high score on the exam is a necessity. Give yourself a leg up by taking advantage of this opportunity.

Finally, please click here to let us know which tutorial you’d like to attend and give us your contact information so we can keep in touch with you about the hiring process. (Even if you don’t pick a tutorial session now, that’s ok - just show up at any tutoring site on any day.)

Give the latest Merit Matters post a read guys. It addresses all of the concerns about this test including a couple I hadn't really considered.
