See that's the thing...I could swear I recall it being in writing somewhere that after the exam protest session we would be notified at a later time and given an opportunity to attend some sort of review session where we would be informed of their decisions. I could be wrong considering how long and frustrating this whole process has been, but I just really think we're all privy to that information as candidates, regardless of the fact that PSI is an outside company. Does anyone else recall reading somewhere that there would be a follow up session to the protest session?

And don't remind me about that unbelievable requirement to disclose our race before applying for the exam lol....that was simply criminal. Idk how they actually got away with that...yea sure they did it under the guise of using the data only for statistical purposes, but C'mon... what BS... but i digress...

Didn't they say something like there would be repercussions for lying about one's race on there?

They mentioned all protests going before a "protest review board" but I'm pretty sure that was it. Under a completely fair & above board testing process we'd have gotten an actual copy of our exam answers & an answer key.

Ya, our favorite judge said he got wind of people on the internet saying they'd lie about their race to throw off the #s and he said we'd be disqualified if we didnt answer truthfully.

So now that the special monitor and judge are no longer in charge should it be easier to get the information on how they decided on the right answers after the test.

Yeah I thought so. Seems like a hefty punishment especially for something they were simply using for statistical data.

It is scary to think they are so close to being hired and they cannot walk on the stairs for 8 straight minutes with 50lbs on.

I had to speak to my investigator yesterday and asked about medicals, all she'd tell me is at some point I will be scheduled, and there are people ahead of me who haven't been yet. I am < 350 on the list.

It's amazing to me how many people aren't prepared for the stairs. For all I know I can fail the stairs as well but I'm on there with a 55 LBS vest, just upped it to 60 LBS a few days ago 3-4 days a week for 15-20 minutes. It just seems like a lot of guys are going into this that haven't even bothered working out on the stairs, vest or no vest.

Whats up guys... just a quick question for anyone that took the medical already... got through the CPAT last week in 8:02 so im happy about that... but im kind of confused about the medical... I was the only person in my CPAT group that hasnt got a date for mine yet, so I know it has to be on the way soon and I wanna get a head start

Is the medical packet like the CPB-D form? Am I gonna have to scramble for paperwork and stuff? Do I have to get additional medical clearance from another doctor even though I just took the CPAT and got clearance for that? Any info from someone who already went through it would be greatly appreciated...

    - Good Luck to everybody !!!

    EDIT:

Congrats to that first graduating class too! Much respect!

I'll say this about my medical:
I had just taken a tb test and had the results. I brought that with me and they were fine with that. I also had my hep b, and mmr shots record, and again, that was fine. The form you get will ask you to bring that with you if you have it
I have had two broken bones in my life. One a long time ago, one more recent. I had a letter from the hospital stating they don't keep med records
More than 6 years, so that covered the first break, and I had everything the military ever gave me for my more recent break.
Any medical ailment or trauma you may have suffered in the past, I would start tracking that paperwork down, anything you can get. Save yourself a little time and bring copies they can keep aswell as the originals.

    If you have had any
Broken bones, they are going to X-ray that area that day. It's better to have any records you can. Otherwise they are going to ask
You to bring those back another day.
Also, if your been working those stairs like you should have, and you fail the first time due to high hr, don't freak out. Finish the 5:12. They will have you come in within 30 days to take it again, and the deal is (more or less) that you need to stay on the stairs for 8 min., regardless of hr. if you
Hang for the 8 minutes but look like your about to die
When you get off, the doc may not pass you. Be sure that you can confidently pass 8 min, 50#, 60steps/min. Key word is confidently. I tried everything I could think of, plus a few suggestions I picked up from guys otj here, in a few months before had to lower my hr, and it did come down, but the day of it was 7 beats over. Boo hoo. Scheduled for the next day and passed, confidently, the 8 min. I wish Good luck To everyone facing the stairs during retest, but I wish more that you pick up that area of training and turn Your weakness into your strength. (make your own luck)
Like the LT told us that day, some
Day you will have to walk these steps with all your gear on AND THEN go fight a fire.

As far as guys dropping like flies on the stairs, that's music to my ears as I'm sitting in the high 7,000's! Just gotta be patient and keep prepping. On another note. Went to my brother's house last Wed night to ride for a few hours and one of the guys on his engine is a mentor to a ph guy. Said the guy has zero interest in the job and is just gonna take the $. Guy's 39 years old. It was also nice to hear every guy in the house thinks this whole thing is bs and don't support any of it... Guy's going threw the process right now, thanks for all the info and keeping the rest of us up to date with everything. Much appreciated.

The only thing I needed to redo was the stairs and came in the next day and did the 8. When I retested, everyone passed (4 of us)
When I went in initially, 2 out of 14 passed the stairs. Most were from
Not being able stay on the 5:12. That was the day I went, anyway.

Yea, sorry I'd answer all your question:
    As far as paper work:
If a tb test in the last 6mon, bring the results
Bring a copy of your hep b and mumps, measles, rubella shots.
Any medical or traumatic injury, bring copies of all of that. That should be about if as far as paperwork
You'll need the day of. This will all be spelled out in the letter you will hopefully get soon.
