do they let you actually practice the stations at LIC or do you just get to look at them?
Didn't the Commissioner predict a higher ratio than that at like a minimum 8500 list numbers or something.

Oh yeah I got that in a email about a year ago.. I Was real bummed out from it ...
But didn't they also predict that the world would end in 2012 and we still here trying to be firefighters? ;-)

Stupid question, I haven't been to a doctor in years and we have to get medical clearance from a physician to participate in the CPAT training, would going to a family practice be suffice ?

    Class 1-14 1054 Class 1-14 1374

    Class 1-15 2974 Class 1-15 3934
    Class 2-15 3934 Class 2-15 5214
    Class 1-16 4894 Class 1-16 6494
    Class 2-16 5854 Class 2-16 7774

From the last I saw, they reached list #94 on the current class. I'm probably way off in these numbers, but this was a nice way to burn 10 minutes in the office. Please feel free to chime in and pick this apart, I'm bored as it is.
I think the last class off of this list is going to be 2-2017 (4 years from when the OC list started)... I would guess that the first few classes would have lower ratio but as time goes on, the ratio will become higher as people have moved on for a number of reasons... For the sake of crunching numbers here is what I'm projecting:

Class Class Number Ratio List Number
    1-2014 250 3 850
    2-2014 315 3 1795
    1-2015 315 5 3370
    2-2015 315 5 4945
    1-2016 315 5 6520
    2-2016 315 5 8095
    1-2017 315 5 9670
    2-2017 315 5 11245

For the 1-2014 class, I put 250 as the start number beacuse there are still some PH's and EMS guys to fill some spots. I completely guessed. Who knows what the final class numbers will look like, but as has been said on the forum a lot, we should get a better idea by the 2-2014 class. For myself, I am hoping to get by the 1-2016 class.. We'll see!!!

In my opinion, the ratio is gonna be closer 4:1. The first class was a 5:1, I dont think it will be that high, but I definitely think it will be higher then 3:1.

    Again just my opinion though.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but isn't the list good for 4 years after it was established? So wouldn't that be in October of 2016?

Johnny Boy - I did the whole process for 6019 and I have no idea if they keep those records or not, but I'm not sure it really matters.

For list 2000, the dates you need to prove are July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. If you're in the same situation, beside a mortgage/rent agreement, credit card or utility bills you can use a phone bill, cable bill, W-2's or checking and/or savings statements. The test announcement states they can accept other documents. For example, this time I used my checking, W-2's and my college loan bills (which aren't listed, but was accepted). My thought is that once you get and meet with your investigator, bring whatever you have and then you can discuss the situation with your investigator and figure out what other proofs may be acceptable.

My feeling is still the same about the residency - if you legitimately live here, eventually it will work out - CID is trying to weed out the people that just have their mail sent to an address and thus, from what I can gather, why they are being a bit more strict this time around.

I really hope all you guesstimators are right with your 3:1 and 4:1 predictions. I'm sitting here in the low 600s praying for January. Frank at the medical made it sound like it is a 50/50 shot.

Only have the PYSC left then just have to wait for that letter in December.

Any veterans on here, Check out Team Red White and Blue. Great organization supporting veterans through fitness.

What's the latest number that went through medical?

Quick question about the post 9/11 GI bill. Does anyone know how it applies to the academy and after? I've used most of it completing my bachelors but I have about six months remaining, not really enough to see me through any Masters programs but it would be a start I suppose. Just wondering what former guys have done.. It's a minor matter in the big scheme of things and I suppose they will explain it during orientation.

First 6 mos. OTJ (Basically the academy): 100% of E-5 w/ dep BAH for 11201 (9 MetroTech): $3,258

    2nd 6 mos. OTJ: 80% of E-5 w/ dep BAH for 11201: $2,606.40

    3rd 6 mos. OTJ: 60% of E-5 w/ dep BAH for 11201: $1,954.80

    4th 6 mos. OTJ: 40% of E-5 w/ dep BAH for 11201: $1,303.20

Remainder of apprenticeship (5th year OTJ) or depletion of benefits: 20% of E-5 w/ dep BAH for 11201: $651.60

According to my brother, he went through the academy in 2007, there will be a VA rep that comes and speaks to the vets of the class and hands out the paperwork that is submitted each month. There is a designated instructor that certifies the hours. He said there was a 2 month lag from the time of submission until he saw the $ in his account but it worked fine after that. I have 12 months left on my GI Bill so I'm definitely looking at this as a means to supplement the pay cut I'll take leaving the corporate world. That will be the best pay cut of my life!!!

    Hope this helps.

Quick question if anyone has any idea about. My gf is working in BK and the commute is killing her so we're thinking of moving, we have no lease so we can come and go as we please. Plus it would ease my mind a little about the residency points even though it probably won't make a difference. But I should be getting my investigation packet soon and I know some of the paperwork you need to have is proving residency for the past 3 months at your current residency. Does anyone think that would be a problem if I were the move and only had a month residency at a new place if we moved and the previous 2 at my old place ?
