    I don't see how some one could not run 1.5 miles but they could carry a vest for 10 minutes on stairs with their body weight plus 50 pounds.

    Some are just not fast runners, I know a guy that breezed through everything, but was worried about the run. Guy was strong as a bull and in shape, he said he was running in the 13+ min. mark and couldn't drop time. I guess it's possible.....
    As far as what to wear, shorts and t-shirt. It's gonna be muggy, and I don't want sweats to hinder my time. Plus sweat pants will just be annoying if its pouring out.

    IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, if anyone is having troubling bringing there mile times down use the workouts I have posted. I'm not posting for me, I'm doing it to help everyone/anyone who wants it.

    Some advice for the run. Definitely wear any FDNY apparel you may own. Also don't shave that morning. And right on time is acceptable. Even a few minutes late is no biggie.

    You can have some carbs. I bagel should be fine. I have noticed a difference when eating a meal with any fat in it. I get especially sick when I have any fat with out carbs.

    On a serious note, before a run I try not too eat too much, though before the Tunnel to Towers 5k 1 year I did eat a full breakfast at Ikea and it did not end terribly so... there is that.

    Sad part is you would be surprised how some people actually show up...


    In all seriousness, leave ALL your belongs in the car. Take your car keys and a pen.

    DO NOT wear any buff attire.

    Shave an extra layer of skin off your face.

    Wear your clothing the way it is meant to be worn.

    Cant hurt you to just shave your head now but its a bit early.

    Odds are the senior drill instructor will be the same as the previous class. Best to start off on a good note. These guys remember faces and names surprisingly well. Your goal should be to make it through the academy as anonymous as possible.
