If the clock starts this class i think that would kill guys in the upper numbers (7500+). But purely my personal guess because I'm bored

It's hard to say, it doesn't seem like it now because everyone wants the job. But come 2-3 years down the line, the longer you wait the more guys drop out because they found a job or didn't stay in shape or whatever reason.

Does anyone have any predictions on list numbers in the mid-3000's? I've done a few calculations and I'm thinking 2015.

    Default mid 3000s OC

I'm under the impression the majority, if not all priority hires will be out of the way after this class and that the majority of promo EMS will be done means the classes will be primarily OC from here on out.

There has been some speculation on here that they'll get 3 classes a year starting in January but lets assume they stick to two annually - we are probably looking at the 3rd or 4th OC class for mid 3000s (about a 1000 candidates processed for each 320 member class). January/July 2015 sound about right?

That sounds about right, it helps to hear someone else acknowledge it.

Does anyone have any info in regards to if there has to be a quota (ie: 3 minorities for every 5 hires)?

I think that was just a court mandate for priority hires not anything to do with how candidates are drafted from the OC list - although they blew that off to get the PH through all at once

If that is the case, when do you think the mid 15## will be called? I'm hedging on next July but wishing and hoping for January.

I was talking to a few guys last week who are OTJ. They said stay vigilant prepared because the OC list moves VERY fast. And that was for me, who's 600+ #s behind you.

Medic I think you hit it with July 2014 but I hope you're in in January too- I think especially toward the top the list will move slower, later down the list they may process significantly more candidates to fill a class

I'm 22xx and like I previously said have my fingers crossed for July 14. As they go deeper into the OC list the rate usually raises (1-3, to 1-5, just an example) like previously said people find jobs lose interest, stop training. The best thing you can do it stay fit and stay hopeful. Hopefully they exhaust this list to the max like they've been saying

Yeah man I know. I used my Veterans points for this and left my job to go back to school to get a degree so that when the time comes I can take the Lt's exam - which I know is getting ahead of myself. Anyways I'm training like a machine I run quite a bit. I live in Williamsburg two stops from Bedford if anyone out there is looking for a running partner. And I've got my fingers crossed for you as well bro.
