Anyone hear anything about accelerating the class schedule to allow 3 classes per year? It would seem to really help the FDNY reach their numbers. Getting pretty bummed about these high attrition rates and large numbers of recycles that could keep going back to the academy.

How long of a break did they take between the Jan 13 and July 13 class?

I get shin splints REAL bad.. To the point where I can't run for more then a few minutes.. I try to do interval runs and other forms of cardio but I really need to run..

Kinda on a budget.. Less then 100 dollars would be great..

Congrats to all the guys getting closer to the dream.. Keep it up.
Hey griff. Get yourself to a running store like paragon or jack rabbits. They will analyze what type of stride you have. They will tell you what running sneakers to get within your price range. I buy last years model sneakers I find them to be much cheaper.

That makes sense most of the drop outs are promotional and PH's considering the fact this class only has 20 people off the OC lol.

to be fair as a percentage the ems and phs are way higher. also plz note that 20 people really isnt enough to be statistically relevant

Does anyone know how strict they are with the dates on the medical form you need to fill out and get notarized. I broke my wrist when I was younger, but have no idea the date. Am I better of leaving the date spot blank or trying to ballpark it and just put down a year? Also how does breaking your wrist when you were younger affect your hiring? Do they put you through special tests or something?

9 weeks from the end of the 1st class to the orientation day of the 2nd.

Considering 100% of class 1 and 93% of class 2 were EMS and PH this really isn't a major revelation. Also what does "Group 1" mean?

Then don't ****ing take this job. If 6 more months invested into your amazing career at Corrections is enough to temper your desire to leave then don't. My bet is on you being one of those guys that quits in week 1 or 2 because you can't take being yelled at by a DI.

Did I miss this form in the intake packet or is this something you get at the medical?

I'm very low 900's and for some reason I haven't gotten my medical yet.

Did my intake, got my psych, and am in the cpat training thing. Bugging the crap out of me.

I believe the date stated on here was 1/27 for the start of the next class, which is 8-9 weeks after the end of this 1 .

Default whoever was processed on 6019...

Do you guys recall having to include a 2x2 photo of yourself in business attire on the front of your background paperwork when you appeared for the interview? I am almost positive I did that back in 08, but in the instructions this time around I don't see that anywhere. Ring any bells?

I thought the same thing. I had it for list 2043 as well. Just went through the intake, medical, and psych; they never asked for it. FYI
    2043 - 57XX
    6019 - 32XX
    2000 - 7XX

You don't need one? I went out and got 1 right when I got the packet.
