This is from the NY website.....
Q ] Can jurors postpone jury service for a later date?
A ]You can postpone your service once by calling 800-449-2819 at least one week before your date of service. Have your juror index number (from your summons) with you when you call. Pick a date between 2 and 6 months from the date on your summons and you will be assigned the available date closest to your choice. Any future postponement request or request for excusal from jury service must be made by calling your local commissioner of jurors office.

If you cannot serve even if granted a postponement, you may contact your local commissioner of jurors office and ask to be excused from service. The commissioner may ask you to provide documentary proof of the reasons why you need to be excused.

The orientation day will be a week before the 29th. Bring the jury duty paperwork and at an appropriate time bring it up and ask for their guidance. Or if possible try and contact the jury duty system and postpone your service. You can postpone at least once with no questions asked.

Unfortunately, I have postponed 3 times already due to school, and my reserve military obligation. I'm going to call that number once I pass the run and see what they say. If not I'll due what you suggested and see where it goes from there. Thanks for the advice guys. I might just show up at the court office and talk to them personally.

If you have to show up just bring the paperwork the week before and discuss it with them. They have a no tolerance approach to bull****, but for legitimate problems they will work with you.

Thanks will do. I will be useless being a juror knowing the academy is going on.

If you had to show up I have to assume they'd let you go. If they were smart they'd just let you postpone once more. Once you're out of the academy it wouldn't be a problem at all.

Nothing to do with me, but out of curiosity. If one failed the FDNY ems drug test and thus wasn't hired for EMS and then later took 2000 and got paper work because they took 6019, is it possible they will still hire said person?
Just curious how this person is being called for the Cpat and investigation papers etc.

Are we allowed to wear a watch during the run to keep our own pace?

I also received my run letter, my list number is in the teens. I was told they are taking between 10-30 OC guys for the run thus far and are planning runs for Monday and Tuesday. I assume if anyone fails Monday they will quickly try to gather people for Tuesday. But if they reached the high 50s there is your first shot at seeing how many guys have been passed over thus far. If your in the top 100 and you know your packet is complete then I'd suggest keeping your heads on a swivel the next couple days
