I wonder how beneficial this exam review will be to us.

It seems that it will be a typical protest session, with maybe a little more:

"If, as a result of your review, you decide to submit a protest to any proposed key answer you will have to substantiate your protest. Protests for this exam must be prepared and submitted at the time of the review. In no case will you be allowed to remove from our premises any materials relating to the test, or any notes that you may make during the review.
After the protest period is over, a Test Validation Board (TVB) reviews all protests. The TVB is empowered by Section 50-A of the New York State Civil Service Law, to change key answers, allow duplicate or multiple answers, or delete items from the test. After all protests are reviewed, the TVB prepares a report detailing its findings. After the eligible list has been established, all candidates who submitted protests will be called in to read the TVB Reports. The determinations made by the TVB are binding. Therefore, no further changes will be entertained."

If my test is the 14th, should I have gotten a phone call already to schedule a tutorial?

Don't mean to butt in with my opinion, but that's a far ways to come for the review session considering you can get the relevant parts of it (the practice videos, and Don McNea's book) online. I've taken the test already, and if I were in your position that's what I would do.

Thanks. I ended up getting a phone call from them today. I recognized the number as one I had missed a few times.

My friend Didn't set up a protest session the day of his test. He has to wait to do so? Or did PSI get their answer together.

Taking the test on the 17th. And I got to say that reading this forum has been real helpful and I thank everyone who has contributed alot of their time to acknowledge posts.

And I have to tell ya that all of you that have taken the test already keep posting even if its non-sense like how Tebow is gonna change the world in NYC. lol.

The silence is killing me and getting me anxious. Not that any of you have to keep me cool and collected. But I think it will help all of us eventually when we all start feeling the post test anxiety and waiting blues.

    Thanks all

    MWR

4,816 I believe. But I always thought that was the last list they really needed to exhaust to fill all the spots lost related to 911. If you take the 3:1 rule, that would mean they'd need to hire about 1,600 guys to get that deep. Maybe one of the guys OTJ could tell us if that's a realistic number.

no that cant be right i know they reached at least list # 5400 for exam # 2043 from December 2002. I just wanted to know how high it got when the last class was hired in January 2008.

on the 2043 thread I could only find one post confirming they at least got to 4,816. Guys with lower list #s were also posting that they were going through the process (meds/psych etc) but then the tread kind of died out.

I just looked on the old 2043 thread and from what it says in there they got between list #'s 5,400 and 5,600's.

did 2043 have to promote EMS guys before using the open competitive list? There's going to be about what, 1000 promos from list 2500?

Keep in mind that 1000 people will not be used to fill 1000 spots...

right. if you figure they get around 350 out of the 1000, that's the first class. From what it looks like the city will need a lot more than 350 though. The first few classes may go in quickly and then it slows down a bit? Who knows...

And to the person asking about the last list, they got to 886 on that list.
