Im willing to carpool with anyone in the riverdale area in the bronx when the academy starts..just send me a PM

Does anyone know if the FD covers the toll charges? It is outrageously expensive to pay $15 just in toll fees every day

It used to be if you paid in cash and got a receipt they did. That was like 7 years ago though. Don't know about that anymore

No the FDNY does NOT cover the toll charges. Going to Randall's island you are only paying the toll to enter the island. You do not pay when going home. Thats how it was when I went to the cpat courses a while back.

I'm curious if the list does expire 2017, do they offer a new test around 2015/2016 since we all took the exam 2012? I'm guessing once it expires a new test would be administered

I think so, but I'm only basing this off of 6019. When I, and the rest of the 6019ers took the exam they were still hiring off of 2043...I think it was 2043. Regardless of what it was, they were definitely still appointing off the previous list while beginning the new process.

Just emailed my investigator seeing how my paperwork is doing in "final review" or if it's even made it that far. I was running around like a mad man on the 23rd getting things sorted out so hopefully it's good to go.

I'm guessing no news from anyone over 370 huh?

Guess no news but I did get the actual snail mail copy of my run letter. It has the grooming standards with the run letter.

My mentor then said the only time you will ever use that is when you are at the academy because if you really wanted the axe they would tell you to just come down and grab it yourself, haha.
That might be true in some firehouses but in mine, my Capt. went through a drill with us. He said when I throw the utility rope down, I'm gonna expect you to tie a knot and send the tool up. Last thing you want is the axe or halligan hitting someone.

I just checked the weather, as of right now it says that it is going to be raining on the 7th. The day before it is supposed to be a mix of rain and snow. Does anyone know if this will have an impact on the run happening? I hope it changes before then though.

They will still have the run, they don't cancel PT when you get bad weather. I would shave and have a nice hair cut. You don't have to shave your head till the first day of the academy. But if you want to make a good impression, then by all means.

I know the last couple years haven't been bad for snow, but what happens if there are blizzards and other crazy storms during the training cycle? I'm not just talking about minor snow or whatever.
