The CPAT orientation prep courses are set to start on January 20. I am planning on traveling oversees and I need to book my flight.

I'd like to know how many days per week and for how many weeks are the prep courses? Is it possible to miss the first prep course and show up only to the last few prep courses?

Also, will you meet your investigator on CPAT orientation day and can you hand in some paperwork? Thank you.

It is once a week for six weeks. The first week is an introduction and the rest are time trials. You can miss it but expect to get phone calls from the phone bank.

Nope they won't be there. You will meet them at your intake interview only.

Im in the mid 900's, around 950ish.. I just called DCAS and now it says I am on a certified list, even though it still has 388 on the last number that was certified.

Im under the impression that being on a certified list means you are complete and eligible to be hired.

anyone have any inputs on this and what this now means?

expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed. It's a pessimistic outlook but this process has slowly beaten that mentality in to me. lol

I'm attending the January 6th CPAT Information Session and will be driving from Manhattan. I'm leaving from East 26th Street and 2nd Avenue between 4:00 and 4:30 if anyone needs a ride, PM me for details.

My mentor told me that official dates for the run are 1/7, 1/9, 1/15 and expecting to get in between 500-600. Sounds like it could be true if there will be three run dates. I don't think anyone on here has posted any other date but 1/7. I believe his source is whoever the head of the mentor program is, but I'm not sure who that is. Anyways, guys in the 400s and 500s still got hope for those dates. Keep us posted!

Whether it's a silly question or not, is the CPAT information session essential? Would like to hear from past experience through you guys...

I'm not entirely sure if it's ESSENTIAL but I would highly recommend you go. It will give you time to get acquainted with "the rock" and you choose which day you want to come down and do your CPAT time trials. If you miss it, I'm not sure how you would go about choosing your day.

That depends on the mentor you're assigned. Some people on here had great experiences. Mine was neutral didn't hurt bit didn't help much either. There's no reason not to take advantage of it it's free

    What's up fellas,
I'm new to posting but I've been trolling this forum for a while now. I'm from Bay Ridge, and I think that there might be some other guys from the neighborhood on here as well. I'm going to be at the run on Tuesday the 7th. Does anyone want to carpool or need a ride or want to give me a lift? Either way just wanted to see if anybody wanted to be my road dog lol now that I popped my cherry with posting I'll be on here more often. Hope to here back from you guys and congrats on getting a letter and making it this far through.

If you plan on attending the CPAT training program, I would go.. They give you information on getting the discounted membership through sports club, and that's when you pick the day you wish to attend on a weekly basis.

If you really want the job, treat everything as "essential".. better to be over prepared than under prepared in this scenario.
