Never understood how hockey players have the energy to fight during games. Every rugby or football game I ever played fights last about 5 seconds before people realize its a waste of wind.

Hey boys quick question. I've been through all the processing Medical Cpat Psych etc. I've tried contacting my investigator multiple times to no avail. So does "no news means good news" apply here? Or should I keep bugging the crap out of her.

NYC budget council for 2015 proposed fire academy every 20 weeks... Looks like they'll be trying their best to get three academies in next year

Honestly I think they need to do that if they ever want to actually fill the ranks. The last 2 classes haven't touched the OT at all.

how much OT are you seeing? and how many FF spots have to be filled till the OT "dries" up. Please dont account for attrition rate.

There's overtime available in my house on most tours. Even if we're good then there's definitely bodies needed somewhere else in the battalion. Every tour.

I don't know how many bodies we need to be full. It's hard not to talk about that without mentioning attrition though.

To quote relevant stuff from that budget PDF for lazy people.

The headcount shown in the budget tables in this report are budgeted headcount figures, not an actual count of positions filled. While many agencies maintain a headcount level that is close to their budgeted headcount, the FDNYs actual uniformed headcount is significantly below its budgeted headcount due to a court-imposed hiring freeze that was lifted last year. FDNY will not reach its budgeted uniformed headcount until Fiscal 2016.
There is a swing of funds from uniformed overtime to uniform salaries, which reflects the expectation that overtime spending will begin to level off while spending on uniformed salaries will begin to grow since the FDNY has begun to increase its fire fighter headcount. The Department expects to run consecutive academy classes of 320 recruits every 20 weeks through 2015. Due to higher than anticipated attrition and retirement the FDNY does not expect to have a full complement of fire fighters until Fiscal 2016. Last year the Department estimated that it would reach budgeted headcount in Fiscal 2015.

That would be interesting if they went 2.5 classes per year till the list expires. Might give guys 10K plus a shot at being hired. Only wish they started doing it a year ago.

This 2.5 class per year may start in 2015 which may not affect guys like myself how is expecting January 2015 class but there may be a May/June 2015 class instead of July 2015. Guys in the 100s may get packets sooner then expected.

NYC Fiscal year starts on July 1, so if I'm not mistaken anything regarding FY 2015 (like this report) is talking about the year starting on July 1, 2014.

Yeah, I just mailed it out to DCAS and CID. Thanks. Hopefully CID sends a confirmation also. I asked for one in the letter, but I'll just call up in a week or 2 and see what's up.

So if we bombard citi council or the majors office with emails will it make them put three classes in? I would even go as low as telling them it will improve diversity.
