What if we are expecting the format the city outlines, it's still much different than that?

    Yo!
These people you keep asking didn't have any heads up or idea what was going to be on the test.
    And neither should you.
    Stop asking.

Yes thank you. Was kind of getting tired of all this nonsense. I took the test on the 17th so for damn sure I didn't ask anyone how the test was. I went in somewhat blind, so should everyone else.

Thank you, I have no problem giving an some overall general insight but I'm not going to give specific examples of the types of questions or how they're worded. I study my *** off and went in blind. I don't care how badly you may want this job, I want it just as bad.

Amen Bam.....stop answering questions about the test, you are hurting yourself and all of us who took the test already. Why would you give someone an edge over you in getting this job? This is the last shot for a lot of us, let people take the test the same way we did. Makes no sense to give any details, no matter how vague. 1 extra point could mean the difference between getting on or sitting at some crappy desk for the rest of your life wishing you kept your mouth shut on this message board.

This is why I said that if it was sensitive info, disregard. I wasn't looking for any specifics or a one up or anything, just had a question about the formatting of it. Not really a big deal.

I took the test today and I'm glad it is over with and I don't have to worry about the unknown of the test info anymore.

    IT IS A BIG DEAL!
Asking for ANY information on the test is seeking out an advantage.

And attitudes like that help push me more and more to taking a break from this thread.

    Good luck all.
    Hang tough.

    Default Rescheduling Exam

For anyone that has taken the exam after rescheduling it,

Did you just bring your original admissions ticket and a printout of the email that they sent after rescheduling? Or were you sent another admissions notice?

I saw off of twitter that we may have to wait til "later" on this year for our exam results. Apparently we have to wait for the courts to approve this test.

Later this year could also mean May, no one knows what's going to happen.

Tom or Hopeful, do you guys think it's worth it to try to make it up for one of the review sessions? It's a 7hr drive and not cheap with tolls and hotels.

I haven't taken the review course yet so I can only go on the feedback I've heard. So far I've only heard people say they felt they didn't really learn much they didn't already know from reading the tutorials online. If it were me, and I had nothing else to do, I'd prob make the trip anyway. Even if it helps you get 1 more answer right, it's worth it IMO. I plan on going this weekend, I could pass along my personal thoughts on the class after if you'd like.

I wonder how beneficial this exam review will be to us.

It seems that it will be a typical protest session, with maybe a little more:

"If, as a result of your review, you decide to submit a protest to any proposed key answer you will have to substantiate your protest. Protests for this exam must be prepared and submitted at the time of the review. In no case will you be allowed to remove from our premises any materials relating to the test, or any notes that you may make during the review.
After the protest period is over, a Test Validation Board (TVB) reviews all protests. The TVB is empowered by Section 50-A of the New York State Civil Service Law, to change key answers, allow duplicate or multiple answers, or delete items from the test. After all protests are reviewed, the TVB prepares a report detailing its findings. After the eligible list has been established, all candidates who submitted protests will be called in to read the TVB Reports. The determinations made by the TVB are binding. Therefore, no further changes will be entertained."

If my test is the 14th, should I have gotten a phone call already to schedule a tutorial?

Don't mean to butt in with my opinion, but that's a far ways to come for the review session considering you can get the relevant parts of it (the practice videos, and Don McNea's book) online. I've taken the test already, and if I were in your position that's what I would do.
