I hope you get your run letter man, someone in the 1200's would help my morale lol….and I broke the run down. 13 mins is 780 seconds total. So each quarter mile should be done in 130 seconds which is 2 mins and 10 seconds. Thats a minute and 5 seconds every 200 meters….and thats a complete joke of standards to hold. My grandfather at 82 years old still hits 9 mins a mile.

That's awesome. Hopefully more than 5 fail today, it's sickening to think they made it this far in the process to fail. You should know if you can run 1.5 under 13 mins during the whole process. We all know our weaknesses and we should aim to improve them. River hopefully you get a letter this week!

I think of you fail the run you go back to BHS and you go the stairs again maybe even longer than 8 minutes, could be wrong though. I think I read read an OTJ guy say they only know of one person to ever make it back from BHS, it just happened the guy was in shape just an exceptionally slow runner lol.

Stupid question about the hair cut, I thought a zero was completely shaved/bald like say Stone Cold Steve Austin. I thought the shortest was a one. If I have to go completely bald that's no problem I just wanted to make sure.

Zero is a clippers without a plastic guard.

Passed the run today, low 10 minute range. Yeah the 5 that failed did not look like they prepared whatsoever. Even some of the guys who passed did not seem prepared. The Academy is close guys, doing the minimum is not enough.

For the 1.5 Minute Run, is there an instructor leading the Group. And if so, are you allowed to pass him to get it over with?

Unless you're exceptionally slow or twist an ankle I don't see how anyone could pass the stairs at the medical but fail the 1.5 mile run.

There will be an instructor running an 8 min/mile pace. He will start behind the group and give you a 2 second head start. Main thing is to just be ahead, or at the very least be level with him. You could fall behind him and then speed up to pass him at any time.

5 guys failed ? Jesus, if I were at that run stage I would be pushing the **** out of my body to finish that run.. shows who wants it more because a mile half in 13 isnt that hard.. Good luck to all the guys who prepared and crush the run in the next few days, wish I was in your position !

A zero is no guard and gives you close to a baldy. In my class most guys did zeros once a week a some guys did 1s twice a week, and some who were already balding just went bald. It's up to you really it just has to look fresh throughout the week. If you're a guy who's hair grows really fast cut it twice a week if not once a week. You'll catch on quick.

I thought at the run the pacer ran at a pace to finish the 1.5 mile in 13 min not 12.

Oh my mistake, I skipped over one of the 0s. Read 1700 rather than 17000.

Wondering this myself. For any guys that were there today, was it 2 groups of about 50 running? Or more? Less?

That's what I thought, but the DI said he would be running an 8 minute mile, which confused me, but I didn't ask questions. Maybe he made a mistake and meant to say something else, but that's what I heard. Also, I know 5 people failed, but I think there were also a few that didn't show up. I'm not positive since there were people coming in late, but I overheard the DIs at one point saying a few people were still missing. It was 9 at first and then like 5 or so people walked in. So maybe 3-4 no shows.
