Hey guys I just received my DCAS CPAT letter. It only mentions two orientation dates, do we get a second letter with the actual test dates or is it if you pass one of the orientations you pass?

    Thanks

A side not for those just starting the process now.. Don't let anyone tell you that anything being offered is a waste of time! DCAS is offering a walk through in the actual course you will take the real test. Go to one. Go see the place. See what the ride is gonna be like. See parking, etc. I went to private CPAT training bc there was a place with a course set up by my house. Everyone told me it was a waste of money, but you know what? I learned more techniques there one on one with the retired firefighter that ran the course than I did at the Rock bc those poor instructors that have to deal with 40+ plus guys with mixed priorities and don't know who is serious and who isn't. Not much time for one on one. FDNY is offering 6 weeks of CPAT training for free. GO TO EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! ITS FREE!!! I remember the first week I went, there was 6 full rows of guys. By the end, there was maybe a row and a half of guys coming. When you see the same faces every week, that's how you find out who is serious and who isn't. Make friends with the serious people. Get phone numbers. They are the people you want to surround yourself with as you go through the process together and keep each other informed. This isn't high school. If you want it, stop effing around and take initiative bc in no way, shape, or form are they forcing you to go. You have to want to go. That's my rant for the day.
You should have held up on the duffel. Don't go out buying duffel bags yet until you actually pass the run. There's a reason I'm saying this, guys in this class know what I'm saying

Hey guys just a quick question. Do we need to have any documents notarized for the initial interview? I know for the 6019 packet we had to notarize the personal form but I didn't see anything for the 2000 paper workout. I want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thanks again to everyone who posts here and keeps the forum very useful.

The di said no coloring logos in or anything like that. That's why I said people should wait if they're not in this class to hear the instructions. I know guys on here that went through the Academy in the past said they allow coloring the logos black but I'll definitely be starting off with the quartermaster one because I'm not getting ripped for not listening. If they allow it later I'll use a nike bag I just bought last week that I sharpied the check black.

They allow blacked out logos, just do a god job doing it.
To the guy asking about the CPAT, yes, there will be another letter coming with dates of the trial run, which if you pass, they will use that score.

Hahaha oh man, that mohawk kid caught so much flak. I almost got screwed because some kid was standing at my control number chair. Then I had to go on stage a second time because this kid was CONVINCED my chair was his... Turned out he was wrong and made me look bad. I hope that wasn't one of you guys lol.

Directed at the guys going into this academy, I know we have some paperwork due on our quartermaster day and some due on the 27th. I've been doing my best to separate it to make sure I don't miss anything. Would anyone be as so kind as to list what documents are due which day? Just to make sure we all get it right. I would, but I'm a little confused myself and I don't wanna mess anyone else up. Thanks guys!

Oh and, we were much louder in Alpha squad, pick it up Bravo..... (and so it begins LOL)

Has anyone or heard of anyone who has been DQ'd and for what? Just curious, sitting on low 7XX right now is killing me, especially not having a perfect application

Some of you might be wondering what being in Bravo and being in Alpha company means. Basically, if you're in Bravo, you are an Adonis amongst men, a gentlemen amongst gentlemen, and an all-around great guy. If you're in Alpha, you're a ballbag and get those bags over your head, dummy!

So here's what I came up with. PLEASE CORRECT ME if I'm wrong.

    Paperwork due on outfitting day:

-Update Personnel Document (UPD-B) which is just if any info has changed since we first filled out packets, right?

-I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification ( must present only originals for list of acceptable documents) I'm bringing my passport

-Proof of residency if you forgot to bring it on the 17th.

    Paperwork due on the 27th:

    -Health insurance forms

    - Oath of office form (WITH $9 blank money order)

    - w-4 Federal tax form

    - It-2104 form (second page attached to W-4)

    - Direct deposit form (with attached voided check or most recent savings statement)

    - $20 cash for union dues.

    - 30 typed up questions

    Am I missing anything?
