Yes sir, starting my senior year today. Honestly, I don't care what happens as long as I pass. I'm going to do my work, study strictly for exams and use the rest of the time on the manual. I'm taking 3 classes rather than the usual 4. Whatever happens, happens. FD is what's most important

A few people mentioned on here that if you got the email about CPAT prep then you should be receiving your packets soon. Were the talking about the letter that just came in saying the same thing that the email said? It came in a big white envelope. I Just want to be clear

Supposedly the letter / email arrives in anticipation of our intake packets.

Hopefully we get them in the next coming weeks.

I got the same envelope. My mom was like " so you're in ? Great Job ! "

I'm like ... its not that easy Ma ...

I recieved that big white envelope from the FDNY as well. It isnt the packet and I kind afigured when I first got it cause it was so thin, I believe I read the packet is thick lol. All it is is the exaxt email you got about CPAT info sessions and The info about the Mentorship Program just that its in paper. Also your medical clearance form that you need signed by your physician in order to participate in the CPAT Prep sessions, which I would take care of rite away, I had mine signed the next day.

Any official communication with you as a candidate that they are preparing to process, or processing, gets sent as a paper copy as well. Obviously in this day and age everything is much easier via email, but I assume it's a legal requirement to snail mail it as well.

Yeah I got my letter signed yesterday. Does anyone know what happens after the CPAT info class? It's back to waiting I'm guessing right?

Slow summer Thursday - looks like all this new paperwork went to everyone with 100, about a 1000 candidates. I happen to be less than 30 names into 99 - very frustrating. Went back to last Sept through Nov paperwork went out to 102 and 101 - about 1500 names. I'm wondering if they will continue going one grade at a time or just start processing portions of candidates within each grade.

It seems as if they are doing one grade at a time. Earlier on they were doing more than one grade because less people had it.

Slow work day... so just posting something on my mind, if anyone can answer/comment, that'd be great.

I just had my annual check-up and got a resting heart rate of 50 (I ranged from 48-60) in the past few years when I started to actually remember these numbers. As far as I know, 'most' people fail the stairs part simply cause of their heart rate doubling, is that correct? I don't exactly know what my numbers are for stairs but it seems that it's way more than 100 beats per minute. Just keep training I guess so I can worry less haha

If you don't pass the first time, it's really not a big deal. When I went through it, none of the guys I was with even got to put the weighted vest on because of our heart rate doubling. Everyone there with me was prior military and we were all in good shape. I went back 3 days later and did the stairs again without even breaking a sweat.

Roll call is 6:50, you need to be on the premises at 5:50. For the late class, you need to be in by 6:50 for 7:50 roll call.

Ok so ideally like 5:40 or 5:45 at the very latest is when most probies arrive?

Looks like you could take the M35 to the rock if you lived close

Yes, you could take the bus, but consider how often it probably runs before dawn. I love the MTA, but I'm not going to put my fate in the hands of the M35 when an angry DI is at the other end of a late arrival.

I know it's not necessary any longer but does any one have an idea about how much LASIK or other procedures cost. Asking for a friend.

My procedure was about 4K. It was worth every penny. I wish I had done it earlier.

I plan on getting to this cpat meeting at about 5:30 or should I be there earlier?

Also, when do we get to start playing frisbee with our mentor?
