I think they took it down for some reason. but then put it back up. I don't plan on going alone but I am off tom.

Turnout in support of a fellow firefighter...

    and of your own rights.

One of our sister firefighters, Liz Osgood of E-47, has been denied her hard earned promotion to Lieutenant for reasons that have nothing to do with her abilities, commitment or merit. You may be next. To prevent this, you are being asked to attend a Press Conference in support of her fight - a fight you may have to fight next.

Attendance is not limited to active firefighters. We urge anyone who can make it to come. Well known civil rights lawyer Ron Kuby will be representing her.

Sorry for the late notice, but spread the word far and wide. Details are as follows:

When: Thursday, March 6 at 10 am

    Where: City Hall

Please do not wear any job issued clothing.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call.

no. I have a friend with both plates and pins in his ankle and he passed the medical with no problem.

I would think Ull get ur packet sometime next year . With a chance at the academy in 2016 . All depends on that ratio . If it remains at the same 3:1
Yeah my initial thought was a packet around the end of this year and chance at 2016 academy but can't say for sure.

If it is scheduled like that then the 98s will never be reached. I hope this is not true.

I think protocol at CID has changed. They're trying to cover their ***. How can any believe that they reached 700's for this class and then next class is just going to magically reach 1020 flat.

I think after the lawsuit they've been careful about assuming anyone will 'drop' or be 'DQ' from the process until it's all said and done.

What will happen is they'll get to like 1500 on the list for July and then tell 1900 they're going in July 2015.

The list will move as it always has. Guys get caught up on psychs, medicals, cpat, get other jobs or sleep through the intake. 85% of getting this job is about showing up.

I see ur point . But only time will tell .if guys want it the way the say numbers will stay low . If not then I can see it being up in the 1500s. There are still guys that are below the 700s. Who are looking into getting into the July class as well

Guys have always wanted the job as bad as guys talk about it on this forum and the number has usually been at least 900 guys to fill a class. The number may be more or a little less, but it still should get up there in numbers.

Expires on June 23, 2017 (I know it's June 20something.) If you call DCAS, they'll tell you in the automated system.

I'm 46xx and beginning to worry also. And I turn 30 in 2018, so I'm hoping I can somehow get in before I get cut off.

I always forget the details to this despite people constantly posting it. However. I think you number is more that sufficient. I Forgot my reasoning but I was thinking people further down the list will start loosing their fake residency in bigger numbers.

not sure if you meant otherwise but you are good for this list even if you turn 33. The cutoff is for filing, not testing or being hired.

Something I realized a while back is this. There are thousands of guys on this list. I seem to see the same 100+ guys post on this forum. Being on this forum and hearing everyone on the forum say they "want the job so bad" makes it look like EVERYONE on the list wants it lol. Look at the big picture. We on the forum are the very serious few. Thousands of guys out there don't even know or care that this forum exists. Most of them won't make it through or don't want to do it at all. Not to say that there aren't some serious guys out there that aren't on this forum, but you get the picture. Here's another example: I'm in the 1100s. I can think of only 4 or 5 guys on this forum in the 1100s as well. In that group of 1100 to 1199, where are the other 95 guys? Not on the forum lol but they're out there and most of them dont care much about the job. Not sure if my spiel made sense to any of you but I hope that it will put some perspective for you guys further down the list. You will be reached eventually. Don't take your eyes off the prize.

I am hoping that they get to the score of 100s soon, I have a feeling that will be a much different ratio than the ones so far. So there are six classes left?

I meant for if I don't make this test and have to take the next one. I thought the cutoff for filing was age 30.

6 maybe 7(if they squeeze in another class before the list expires in june rather than the usual july), assuming 2 classes a year until june 2017, and assuming they keep hiring at a steady rate

She was a instructor for us in the recent graduating class. Very cool, and very good instructor. Hope she gets what she worked so hard for.
