We are having an open house in a little over a month and decided we need to do a little sprucing up to show we're not total slobs.I wanted to get some ideas that others have done. Thanks in advance!!
We are looking at following:
1, Drywall repair
2, Painting the training room with a FD theme.
3, Door and window trim
4, Ceiling fans (no a/c in most of building)
5, General clean up inside and outside of building.
6, Carpet repair
Things we've already done:
1, Epoxy bay floors
2, Put in new overhead doors
3, Update radio/computer room
4, Remodel bathroom
5, Build new benches for getting into gear
6, Update training room sound system.

When you say drywall repair - walls or ceiling ? If you are repairing walls due to damage , this might be a good time to redo the area with something more durable.

My department is in the middle of doing the same thing right now actually. I know you have general clean up inside and outside, just a reminder if you have a display case with awards/memorabilia, make sure to dust those off and organize it a little if it looks a bit messy.

Well we had our open house this past Saturday and it went over great. Made a few bucks with a pancake breakfast, hot dog lunch and a few t shirts. Had helmets and coloring books for the kids along with letting them go through each and every truck we had.
Ok we decided to go full out and did the following for our update:
1, We replaced all old paneling with new drywall
2, Painted the room with a FD theme with same red as our rescue, with a two toned room with a white chair rail and a red 1x4 border along teh ceiling that held all our traded patches.
3, Replaced two doors and trimed/retrimed windows and doors
4, Put in two ceiling fans with drop ceiling fan brackets.
5, Cleaned the hey ho out of the place. We ticked off the garbage/recycle company with so much stuff we got rid of over 3 weeks.
6, Replaced the carpet to compliment #2.
7, Installed a new sound system for training, so no longer dealing with cheap pc speakers to hear training videos.
8, Put up new scene pictures.
Chief loves it! We had a crew of 6 pretty much do it all with volunteered or reduced cost trades, materials and a lot of sweat equity!

Paper posted video article of our open house. In the first video you can see my Ford Flex, then I'm the guy handing out the sausages.

You can see what our renovation looks like in the second video with our Chief.
