I missed the mini academy because my brother got married that day. I read the previous forum posts about what it entailed. I am just curious, did they say to study every section? and how specific where they with what to study?
Can anyone confirm what date PFD is holding their practice exam at 5th and Willow? I am flying in from out of state. Is it the 17th, 18th, both nights, never?
Thanks and good luck.
The 17th not sure about the 18th. The guy running it said it is difficult to secure the hall on a Friday.
can any one tell me how the test will be graded?
I tried calling but no one had any answers but I dont know.
I did read them but I wanted a positive answer. I heard the first part was pass fail and if you passed it then you get ranked on the 2nd part but no one gave me an answer
Is the 18th final review going to happen or not, at the Union Hall?
Hey just wanted to run my plans by some of you native philadelphians..I'm planning to leave my house in the poconos at about 8-830,I'll be parking at the 5600 north broad street lot and taking the septa train to a location 4 blocks from the central high school..is that the best route for me? will it leave me enough time? is/will traffic be insane? any other travel tips other then what was already mentioned here?
Thanks buff..last time I was in center city was the franklin institute when I was in 8th grade, I don't want to be running late, last thing I need before a test is to be stressed out.
is there going to be a math section on the test ?
Northeast Extension to the E/W Turnpike. E/W Turnpike EASTBOUND to Willow Grove/Route 611 EXIT 343.
Take 611 SOUTH. The JENKINTOWN TRAIN STATION is a few blocks from 611.
Take the train to the FERN ROCK TRANSPORTATION CENTER.
Get on the BROAD STREET SUBWAY. South is the only way you can go, Fern Rock is the end of the line. GO TO THE OLNEY TRANSPORTATION CENTER.
GET OFF AT THE OLNEY TRANSPORTATION CENTER.
Go down the steps. Look across Broad Street and down West Olney Avenue- That is Central High School, about a block and a half walk.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow.
For all those traveling, good luck with your traveling plans.
I plan on tuning back in after tomorrow to follow the discussions as we wait to hear anything/something from the City regarding our test scores and the next steps.
Good luck to all taking the test tomorrow.
As a reminder, parking will be very limited in the area surround Central High School and Girls High School (they are about 1 block apart).
Check out SEPTA's (regional transportation) website: http://www.septa.org/ Information is available about all commuter rail trains, subway, fares, maps, schedules, etc.
Anyone coming into the city via Commuter Rail, get off at the Fern Rock Transportation Center, walk to the Broad Street Subway (there is a connecting ramp) station at Fern Rock and take the subway ONE stop to Olney.
Girls High and Central High are both west of Broad St. Central is about 2 blocks away.
For those coming from downtown Philly, take the Broad Street Subway north to Olney Ave.
The fares for the commuter rail trains varies by distance. The cash fare for the Broad Street Subway is $2. Have exact change. Cashiers don't make change.
If you are taking the Philadelphia Test tomorrow, Saturday November 19 2011, stop reading this. Get off the computer, and go watch some mindless television to release tension. Watch a good comedy like "Family Guy" or a movie like "Airplane." But above all else, do not stay out late tonight, do not go drinking with your buddies, and do not go over the girlfriends house. STAY HOME. GO TO BED EARLY. GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP. EAT A LIGHT BREAKFAST and/or A LIGHT LUNCH IF YOU ARE IN THE AFTERNOON SESSION.
ABOVE ALL ELSE, GOOD LUCK.
Those who took the exam today, how do you really think you did?
