    Are you guys going to wait it out? or call? I'm really nervous about calling, I was in a process once, and the LT said Don't call and ask for your test score..being a "pay attention to detail" kind of guy, I figured that maybe if you called they had a list of people who "couldn't follow directions" so I blindly drove to Virginia for a CPAT not knowing if I passed or not lol. I'm just wondering what you guys' thoughts were on calling vs. waiting?

    Do you really think the class will get underway that quick? Interviews are still being held until the end of July and at least 160 people have to go to get medical screenings and fittings for gear?

    Yea im gonna wait until next mon prolly to call if i dont get a letter, weve got plenty of time for notice to interview if the interviews are being done in order of rank all through the month. The wait blows though man.

    all I needed was a "well, the interviews usually take the longest, the medicals usually only take a week or so" or a "well, when I did it, it took me this long", or "well, my source isn't that sure so take it with a grain of salt" maybe you weren't this nervous when you went through, that's great for you, but I am..sorry to annoy you with stupid questions because this is all that I've been thinking about since may 30th..I promise it won't happen again.

    One thing to think about is that you're no longer working with CITY hiring personnel, bur rather Fire Administration Personnel.

    If you show up looking presentable, (pressed suit for men, appropriate attire for women), show up early, show respect through you language and demeanor, and show some passion for this job, I guarantee you'll be good to go.

    No. I work for a surrounding county, but I've worked with them before in an unofficial capacity. I also have a reliable friend who interviewed this week who shared the same opinion.

    does anyone who is already on the job think the city might cut back on hiring now that the contract passed and the city has to put out more money then expected , Not saying that is going to happen i just can see them trying to pull that.

    At least for veterans, Obama's really pushing cities to hire them for fire/police. Not sure if any specific funding is going directly to Philly FD, but I do believe there are other financial incentives. I think Fixxer or FireFuss mentioned something about this a few pages back...
