All vets were called......if they are not in the current classes they did not pass some stage of the first hiring process.

Thanks for all the heads up Norf, its really appreciated.

Funny how things can change so quickly... 188 is now off the table due to the court victory for us... So the city will punish us by not having a class and force themselves to pay us overtime... No wonder the city is broke...

Watched the city counsel meeting in full today guys....

The commissioner mentioned this during his speech about the forced transfer policy:

"Ayers said the policy was developed to meet Philadelphia's specific challenges, including a coming influx of 320 new recruits and the loss of 150 firefighters through retirements in the next year. Ultimately, he said, the department would have a five-year rotation process"

So there are your next two classes ladies and gents > 320-160=160 = 2 more

I'm lovin' it! We did this process once before guys, and now we can do it again. NorfPhilly, I just want to say that your updates on everything have been immensely appreciated. You didn't have to do it, but you chose to. That shows a lot about your character.

Single digit 200's. I'll be happy to introduce myself to everyone once we get to lunch on the first day. I want this just as bad as everyone else, just glad that I have friends in good places that pass down the info...

I'm in the mid 300s but my status still says "eligible for hire." It said "in hiring process" last time around but I never received a letter in the mail for orientation. Hopefully they get to me this time around.

Im in the same boat, does anyone know if they are setting up a single class right now or this is another double?

Most likely will be a double. Last week there was a knee-jerk reaction to the City losing again...they stomped their feet, took their ball and went home. Approval for the 188 was put on hold, but now it appears to be back on schedule.

How many were dropped or quit during the EMT training? How many more have dropped out during hard arz fire fighting classes??

Two didn't pass the EMT cert in one class...haven't heard of anyone dropping out since getting to the fire side.

Just a thought, but if the timeline is anything like the last process from when our status was "in hiring process" to when we had orientation, then we may be spending New Year's on Pennypack. That would be pretty cool
