Like you guys, I want this. I welcome the book work and will 100% dedicate myself. I want to be pushed to the limit.
I've lost 137lbs overall. I was a 52 waist and now am a 34 inch waist.
I run a 6:50 minute mile and did the Broad Street Run. I need to work on the upper body and know they will kick my butt. I want that. I want to push myself to a place I've never been.
I'm at 35 push-ups so far in a set. I can do better. I did 50 sit-ups in 2 minutes. Also will improve on that.
People were in good shape at my orientation from what I remember.
I met some people that weren't sure they wanted this at my physical. I wonder if they'll follow through?
Any guesses how far down the list they'll end up?
I know for a fact that the interviews went into the low 300s.
I kjnow of one person on the original list who ws in the low 400s who interviewed and got bounced becaust he didn;t make weight at the physical.
i also know of one person who was non-vet below 150 whos no longer interested.
I think it's fair to say we all want this to be on this forum. It's crazy to think we could be brothers/sisters soon.
I was 9 pounds over and lost 11 pounds in 4 days to make weight.
For the guy who was bounced, was he allowed to re-weigh in or was he flat out?
Too many twinkies lol... I wonder when the letters coming.. I'm ready !!!!
For those of you with conditional offers I would get off of here. Forums may by "anonymous", but you need to be invisible until you graduate. Don't think for a minute that the instructors don't check this. And also, don't believe that they will be impressed with anything you have done thus far to show how bad you want this job. What you have done up until you start means nothing. Become invisible and let your performance and grades show what you're made of.
I saw someone asked about shoes again: 4 eyelet oxford toe low-quarter shoe and you can't go wrong. You can pick up a pair at payless or target and polish them up really nice.
Good advice. I'll stop posting. Should I delete previous posts
Test test test
HR probably get a million phone calls tomorrow, if anyone find out anything let me know... The wait is the hardest part of this process...
Are recruits randomly selected for stations / apparatus when they graduate ?
I just got off the phone with HR. Guy said they are hoping to start Aug 18. I asked when letters would go out, he said around the first week of Aug if the 18th is in fact the start date. I asked if the first class has already been selected he said no, only a few people have been selected so far. This is clearly what none of us want to here :(
Human Resources plans on announcing the FF entrance exam on 7/22/13. The anticipated test date is 11/16/13. The test format will be the same as last time. I strongly advise all of you to sign up for the exam, even if you are a "lock" for one of these classes.
Unlikely because it is too soon or because it doesn't align with the shifts?
Can you imagine being passed over at this point? There has to be many candidates who have given up by now. I wonder how many no-shows there will be on the first day?
