    Default GIS Response Time Maps

    Group,

does anyone have any online or other resources to produce GIS travel time maps from various fire station locations?

Looking for something to produce some preliminary results, possibly leading to the purchase of the more expensive software.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jim

http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/jav...rvicearea.html will get you out to 3 minutes. With a bit of javacript knowledge you can extend it.

    Default Google Fusion Maps

You might also take the free approach.

Google Fusion Tables allows you to upload a spreadsheet and view the data on a map. If you have the grids and the times you could view the data as a heat map. This is a great way to see areas in which run time are optimal or less than optimal.

We currently use it to map hydrant locations as well as incident locations. With a little bit of effort we could add hydrant usage to the reports to see which hydrants we use the most.
