Firefighters quickly contain commercial fire in Orem

Firefighers quickly stamped out a fire that started outside of a woodworking facility in northwest Orem on Sunday afternoon, but the building still sustained significant damage.

Capt. Ryan Peterson said the fire, which was reported about 4:15 p.m., was under control within 10 minutes of firefighters arriving at RT Manufacturing at 1186 N. Industrial Park Drive, but the flames had filled the building with smoke, so another 20 minutes were needed before they could determine the fire had been extinguished. None of the equipment or materials inside the building were damaged by the fire, although there was water damage to the interior; the exterior of the building did have fire damage.
