I noticed this process too...anyone from the area that can provide some insight on the department? I've been to the website and read everything on it (before I get the..."ITS ALL ONLINE" answer). Looking for real world experience of guys that have worked or currently work there. Thanks!

Good department. Seems to have it together. You never here about them having any budget problems. I know they run volunteer, part time, and career. They also have transport units. Have not heard many bad things though. The guys I know that work there seem to like it. Also will have to go through their probie school. County is about 40 min North of Atlanta.

Not all medics work on squads. They run a good bit of calls, although they are not near as busy as Atl, Dekalb or Gwinett. The northern half of the county is still pretty rural. Its a real good dept.
The rumor is they will be hiring one rookie class. There will be some who are hired full-time and others who will be hired part-time. Those who are part time will be put in full time slots as they become open.
Also you will not be hired if you are not Emt-I or medic.
