    Default Deptartment/District

Any advice on what the first steps should be to attempt to go from a department to a district?

I'd say learning how to spell "department" correctly would be a start. It's not "deptartment". Hahahahahaha.

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

    Take care,
    Pete

Not sure what you mean? What's the difference between the two in your area?

EDIT: After thinking about it, I assume you mean that you want your department to becoming a tax-based fire protection district?

Consult the laws in your state regarding this transition.

In LA it involves a vote of citizens or a petition signed by 51% of the residents of the proposed district, a lot of paperwork, and a legislative act.
