Are your chances higher to get hire if you have a nursing degree instead of a paramedic one?
Thanks!

Looks good, but depending on what is required in your area or used
Paramedic is used in the fd over nursing, but the nursing is good to have as a second job or fall back

Depending on the state you can bridge from RN to Paramedic.. Some states you can "challenge" the NREMT-P exam and others you have to take a bridge program that varies in length..

here in illinois im not too sure of any fd's that will accept a nursing degree over a paramedic cert, but if you get your paramedic cert, and get in with a ems system, you could become a lead instructor because all of the paramedic programs are required to have a nurse run their program, or atleast here in illl they are.
