If you hear anyone saying they are needing reviewers for the ems side of things I am available.

We purchased our two power cots about three or four years ago, and it's a night-and-day difference. So much easier getting patients off the ground now.

Depends on how things go with the work schedule. Wife & i took last week off to go to the Labrador national down in Brooklyn Ct. Lots of fun with the dogs and dog friends. no radios, pagers or communication with the outside world. It was WONDERFUL.

Today I'm finishing up a local foundation grant app for a new ALS training mannequin with all the trimmings. It's amazing how much these electronic mannequins can do.

I hope that with the talk of getting the grant year back on track next year that they release the DJ's a whole lot sooner this time around so we can plan accordingly.

    Log into your applications.

    Prior Awardee:

Expand the "Action Box" on the awarded grant. Click on "View" 1199A. You will find a reference in at the top of the page. Look to see if a reference to 2011 is there.

Disclaimer: If it has been some time since your last award that "View" 1199A might appear in your 2011 application "Action" box. My suggestion is check all of your awarded grants from previous years as I found the 1199A in other awarded grants as well.

    First Time Awardee:

Click on the "Action" box on your 2011 application. You will be looking for "Update" 1199A.

I wrote our AFG for 11, and was aware that we received one in 05; However, I was not aware that is was not closed out. The person that was responsible for this grant is no longer active, and apparently most of her paperwork is gone with the wind. I have managed to find parts of this grant here and there (there was a total lack of organization and management prior to our current administration). I have finished the paperwork to close out this grant, (after waiting for FEMA to grant my access), and Im waiting on a check from our treasurer. Does this automatically disqualify us, or since I have made them aware of the situation, do we still have a chance for 2011?

Having gone through a similar problem, they are pretty good as long as you are trying to fix the problem. I would ask whoever you are dealing with at AFG just to be sure.

Is this something you discovered on your own or did AFG call you to remind you about it?

We were called in 2007 to close out our 2005 grant. "You really want to get this closed out" And we were happy as received $295000 for a pumper tanker.

I was asked today about what can we apply for next year. After I thought about it a minute it dawned on me that is was not a bad question if the talk of getting the grant cycle back on track holds true.

I was asked by my chief the same question last weekend.
I told him I would like to apply for a washer and dryer for the department.
Any recommendations on brands and sizes to get that can handle washing turnout gear?
