Is anyone out there wearing this hood for wildland firefighting?

The reason I ask is that like most departments, we are starting to suffer from some serious budget crunches and would like to cut costs while not sacrificing protection. Our current system involves a helmet with ear flaps (which are sold separately), along with a 'hot shield'. I think this would eliminate the need for the flaps and the hotshield, but would like some feedback. Thanks y'all!

To put it mildly.....F-the Hotshield. They are over priced, hot, and don't really do anything than realize how bad your breath really is. If you wanna cut cost and kep protection up( which can be a oxymoron) Look at this http://www.firecache.com/prodinfo.asp?number=30.2050
Courage, Being Scared to Death and Saddling Up anyways.
