Is there any type of residency requirements, or do you need to maintain a certian number of hours a month? I live in Ft Myers, and currently in medic school, but this seems like an opportunity to learn alot.

No you should be fine as long as you put in the time. The bare minimum is 2 twelve hour shifts a week but we always need more then that from everyone that can because us volunteers is all that runs these engines so you have to be as committed as you can. Fort Myers is a distance but if you work a shift instead of doing just a night or just a day twice do the whole 24 hour shift twice a week so you work more then bare minimum and saving gas if you were committed and wanted to do more then minimum. But we understand people have jobs and school. The shifts are 8am-6pm and 6pm-8am.
