I want to move to denver im a firefighter in florida and i also have my emt. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice and how hard is it to get on with DFD? i know some of these departments down in FL we'll have like 800 ppl testing for a few spots.. And what are some other good departments in colorado?

DFD is extremely competitive. If you are military or speak a foreign language, the bonus points are huge. I scored a 90% (with no preference points) on the last DFD test and was hundreds of people down the list. Plenty of good departments around the area and plenty of volunteer opps also to get your foot in the door. You will need to get your NREMT current for reciprocity in CO.
