Four academies total possible, over the next two years, right?

Talked to my investigator this morning. He said everything looks fine, thankfully. I need to get my flight booked to come up for the CPAT. Does anyone know what time the CPAT is going to happen? What times have the practice/mentor sessions been happening? I want to try to get up there and back on the same day if the times work out. Tired of paying for hotel rooms.

Anyone know how many they run through each academy?

18 spots are reserved for civilians. If they don't have any cadets maybe more.
    Max 24 in an academy.

Hey guys, I was wondering if the CPAT was held indoors or outdoors? Also, what's the floor surface like (for the dummy drag)?

Don't know honestly. It's never impacted any of my previous testings. I'm not part of the process this go around, but I would think your paperwork or invitation would have those details.

    Good luck with your process!

I did the CPAT last weekend and it was lightly raining, We had a 1.5 hr rain delay due to heavy rain, but we were able to complete the test that day. Light rain/ mist about 50 degrees F was my test. Other than that it was a standard CPAT.

    Everybody,

Remember that Denver is called the "Mile High City" for a reason, Altitude is no joke, so if you are from out of town, the CPAT WIIL be more difficult.

    Just a Little FYI

Good point. Did you see out of towners having issues with the altitude at your session? Any candidates in general have any issues with the CPAT?

Unless you are out of town from a place that's higher.

I was the 5th person to go in my group, One guy didn't make due to time 10:28, That is the only person that I know of that missed from my group. I left after I was done. June 16th will be the final passes and fails.

Next round of practice testers will be June 2 it sounds like. Passed the first practice run, but good luck to those testing the next time around. If we all pass the practice ones, hopefully no one even needs to run on June 16.

I'm coming from out of town for the 16th (couldn't make any of the practice dates), so there will be at least one testing. You can all come be my cheerleaders.

I was told by my background investigator that he would probably have my investigation done by the end of June and he thought a July academy was out of the question. I've heard that the first one could actually be as late as next year.

The next academy, which is in july, will be using the current list before it expires. The list that they are building currently will be for the possible fall academy and provide a list for the next two years.

I think that this is great! It didn't seem fair to wipe away the old list when they've been waiting so long... Of course, it hurts our chances, but such is life!

Hard to say what your current rank is now due to whether the people dropped were before or after you. There are aprox 130 still in the process. I imagine they will rerank us after backgrounds and Cpat or perhaps even further along. Good luck to all!

I am on the old list. I received an email from Civil Service on Wednesday night. Attached in the email was a background update form, which needed to be turned in by May 30th. It was only a few pages, and just needed any changes (criminal history, work changes, if we moved, etc.) The academy is set to start on July 9th, and they will be taking 20 from the list of us who were certified last year in August. I could be wrong, but I believe there were just a shade under 30 of us on the list (who didn't get in the last academy; there was roughly 60 certified, including cadets, and they took 24 in September.) Of the eight people I met in the last process, seven of them received the letter, and one of those seven was hired elsewhere. The good news for us is there are no more cadets eligible until next semester, so it will be an all civilian academy.
