    Talking South Metro

South Metro is looking to hire for an Aug 2012 academy. The numbers right now are 14-16. Could be more based on retirements in the next year. South Metro has not hired since the merger with Parker. The last academy had about 33% Paramedic's, so EMT's should apply as well.

Cool. Thanks for the snapshot of what's going on with SM.

    Mary: Not good.

Mary: I'd say more like... one out of a million.
Lloyd: So you're telling me there's a chance. Yeah!

I should be NREMT-P by Christmas since I finish class on the 17th of this month and do the NR Skills exam on the 29th. I called SMFRA and they told me as long as I have my NR by the Middle of February I should be good to apply for the Paramedic. It looks like the seats are filling up FAST for the FT Test. Should be a lot of good people in the running.
Doesn't sound like you're interested anymore but I've been a paramedic for 6 years, in EMS for 8. I haven't looked at Denver protocol but will be following NR .

So being I was in the red. I decided to count how many were green. I counted just about 200. That doesnt seem like all that many.

I am in the red too. I wonder if we call if we can get our scores. I took the fire team test once before and I am curious if I improved on it?

    CODave,
In the green also! Good luck to all those that got through AND to those that did not in future/upcoming testing. Let's hope for a lot of opportunities and hiring in 2012!

I made it as well. Considering they only tested 600, i'd say 200 is a pretty hefty number. Wonder how they will stratify them with the resumes, and how many they will allow to move onto the boards.

Wasn't there 4 testing times with 175 slots per test. That's 700 applicants

If you do a quick count of the names on the test results list, it's about 1000. Havent heard an official number though

Just shy of 1000 scores were posted, so I think your buddy's number is more accurate.

I agree YJ. I would rather take a standard test and explain my customer service/teamwork skills in an interview. That test is way to subjective.
