Got some cell pics of our Toyne aerial that is under construction, and should be finished by around Christmas.
Storage seems to be on par with our 100' E-Ones. Front bumper will have hyd. quick connects for the Hurst tools.

sorry if this is a dumb question but what size is the main? Just wondering because of the single rear axle.

FIREMECH1,
Looks like this is a pure ladder, am I correct?
We have had our discussion about Toyne but I'm glad you're happy with them. Who is building their ladders now? I thought I heard they went away from RK.
We're going up to Sioux Falls Monday to do the final on our Rosenbauer engine for the Suburban side. Liked what we saw at pre build and pre paint so hopefully this is just a formality.
Congrats,

Here's a recent exchange in a different thread between RFDACM02 and FWDbuff. Buff also takes similar shots at Rescue101 and anyone else with a quint.

I refer to the pump and tank space on a quint as "waste of compartment space."

Looks like a 75' LTI straight Truck. I've not seen a whole lot of straight trucks in the 75' variety, I suspect there are some distinct advantages in those areas where setbacks and taller structures aren't as prevelant and/or your fleet has many of the larger aerials well positioned as well.

Chief; I do nto think it is an LTI, however it appears to be a Smeal, Take a good look at the lift beam. LTI may have made this change if so I withdraw my comment. How is the weather up in the north land?

Clearly I defer to your knowledge of the LTI product. It was the lift area I was looking at thinking it looked more familiar than I guess it should have. My assumption would be it'd be either an RK or an LTI given Toyne's history and current status.
Weather is nice, after the snow on the day before Halloween, it turned mild again. Haven't had to run the woodstove more than 3 nights so far. Luckily for us on the coast the snow was very limited, some of the inland areas got a bit for this early in the season.

I agree, looks like an RK to me. Likely the last RK Toyne will use. It just so happens Toyne beat Rosie/Central (among others, I'm sure) on the bid for this aerial and three engines, and the rumor was someone didn't like it and cut Toyne off. I'm sure Rosie spins it another way.

We don't do "Bi-Trucks", only straight shooters.

As for RK, I have no issue with them, good company with a good product. Have a couple of them, and like 'em.
This is the "truck" that created all the problems between "you-know-who's". I could spill the beans on what happened. But to make a long story short, RK dropped Toyne.

To all I would like to retract my statement to the chief and others on this post, that it may be a Smeal and for the record I stand corrected. Thanks for the keen eye Rmcantee.
Good luck with the new truck Firemech1.Last edited by Skysthelimit; 11-04-2011 at 01:59 PM.
