Angry Sounds like a full load of BS

She bankrupted the company and has NO IDEA how to run a fire truck company.

ALF still owes hundreds of suppliers millions of dollars. They should all boycott ALF until they are paid. They had to pass along the failures and lost dollars to the companies and ultimately the customers of the companies who did not go broke.

So much for loyalty to the fire service. She pocketed millions while the fire service got screwed!

The only members of the fire service who got screwed are the ones who were stupid enough to purchase an ALF while they damn well knew there was funky schit going on there.

Ok, so if ALF hadn't had declared bankruptcy they would have more than likely gone out of business so the suppliers wouldn't have gotten their money anyhow. The downward spiral was already happening when Freightliner still owned the company. Start placing blame there.

At least under bankruptcy some of the suppliers got a token of what was owed to them. Nowhere near enough but like I said, no more than what they would have gotten if ALF went under.

If ALF emerges stronger and has steady enough work to keep suppliers busy and in-turn profitable, then it would be good for everyone. However, they need to make some bold moves with some updated product and prove their stability to have people begin to look their way again.
I can't believe they actually pay me to do this!!!

One friend noted yesterday that a fire officer only carries a flashlight, sometimes prompting grumbling from firefighters who have to lug tools and hoses.
"The old saying is you never know how heavy that flashlight can become," the friend said.

And no, the color of the Sylvia truck is all wrong.
And a face that would make a train turn down a dirt road. Maybe yellow helps hide the profile.

Could you honestly imagine Stoker, Chet, Marco and Captain Stanley riding in a Pioneer?

I have driven both. First truck company I was ever assigned to (Philadelphia Naval Shipyard FD) ran a WLF Ambassador/Maxim rearmount. Wasnt too bad to drive actually, cept she needed an air ride seat for the driver. The 8V-Mechanical Azzhole was louder than hell....The Pioneer II tiller I have driven is the lousiest riding dump on wheels- and an air ride seat wouldnt fix a thing. The 350 Cummapart does make the truck come and go like the wind however.

Let's be honest. American La France died years ago.

There is a company using their name that makes fire trucks...but it is NOT ALF.

I used to like to say "They are Freightliners with ALF logos" but I can't even say that anymore. Your statement couldnt be further from the truth.

    Very true.

The last we had were 1977 and 1978 Century Pumpers. I can tell you they rode like a buckboard. My kidneys suffered damaged from riding the front seat. Worse pos we ever had.

Yep, I've not dealt with many of the 80s models, but I do know the 70s Centruy models were great, at least 76 and earlier.

COT ole buddy, I think it was a hit or miss with those 70's Century models. The 75 we had was a Cadillac, but the 76 was more like a Chevy Caprice as far as quality of ride goes, haha. Engine 41, the 76, rode like an old stage coach. She looked like she'd been to hell and back as well by the time we donated her to another department. But she'd still out pump just about any rig made before 2000, and some of the newer ones depending on the make, haha.
