we applied for a tanker in the 2010 grant and got a notice back in the spring that our 2005 grant hadnt been closed out, we were thinking that this could mean a possible award, so we closed it out, but we got the DJ sometime after that. Hoping for better luck this time.

Its a happy day here, just finished our SCG station construction last week and found a 1199 today for a brush truck and a tanker on the same ap. All smiles here. AFG has changed the face of the fire service in our county here in Mississippi.

Chief have been following your progress since Biggersville won the only SCG in MS. Appears that you are really having an impact in your county there in increasing your capabilities and the safety of your personnel. You are a testament to the fact that you don't have to be a major metro department to be succesful with these programs. Congratulations on your continued grant success!

Our department is still using tips you taught us and so much has changed with the funding our our grants. Our SCG is now complete with added coverage to our service area with all stations having better staffing. Kurt thank you again

Hey Barb, long time; no posting. You must be busy trying to manage all of those grant programs you guys have won over the last 4-5 years. Sorry I did not get a chance to get by and say hello when I was up in Oxford teaching last year. Keep up the good work and thanks for the kind words. Have a great Holiday Season and be safe. Did you ever submit the extrication tool grant story to AFG? One of the best examples I ever saw of the program increasing safety and saving lives; especially since it was one of your own members being saved there.

Any updates lately? I am getting nervous on my end. Applied for a engine. We have 2 engines now, one is a 1977 and the other is a 1976, both are open cabs. We need a engine bad. I asked for $250,000 for the Engine and a grant total of $264,100.00

Found One
Finally found an 1199A on one of the applications I worked on.

It didn't come today.....most likely came out with the first batch. Just got their access info today.

Wasn't there on Wednesday last week, probably a Friday drop when the others found the truck 1199As. Sorry, boss was slow passing the list over, wasn't a holiday weekend, was a honey-do weekend....

No update or AFG award procedure letter. One could advance the theory that only potential awardees received the letter. Just to stir up the worriers in here,

Sent to all
The email was sent to all. We got 2 of them one from each we department run/write for but we only wrote a 2011 grant for one of the two.
I am guessing that awards will start on Friday and you will get the new award emails on Wednesday or Thursday with congressional calls???John & Sheila
