I hate the waiting over months. I wish they'd just DJ or approve everyone at once. I hate the drip, drip, drip.

TOTALLY Agree! How hard is it to figure the amounts requested and the amounts available. The only hangup would be those depts. that turn the $$$ down.

Guys we all would like to see that happen but the problem lies in the logistics involved in running a grant program. Doing a technical review, transfering money, amount of money available that week to give out( yes they do regulate that), processing requests, processing awards and anwsering the questions of everyone who gets rejected. AFG staffing is still either the same or lower than it was 5 years ago... there is only so much work they can process per day. Also bear in mind that they are about to get SAFER fied up and FP&S will be right on its heels also.Give them a break they are really trying to speed the process up especially considering last years SNAFUS. It appears they are on track to get these awrads started post haste we just have to wiat and see.

Kurt, my complaint isn't with the people running it; just with the way the system is set up.

I relaize that guy; just wanted everyone to know that without additional help and staff it woudl be really hard for them to push these out any faster or even institute a better system.

Realize the staffing issues. Just pokin' a little fun at the system while we all anxiously wait.

I learned a long time ago that government has 1 speed. Heck, I'm just happy that they ARE providing funding to some of my brothers and sisters!

Im starting to become anxious. I found our reduction several weeks ago for our new ambulance and urban interface, but not a word since. Is this normal? What should be the next step, and how long until that happens???

Yep , AFG is teasing us with a few 1199a's out there and then holding everyone in suspense now for over 10 days since the last 199a appeared. It appeared you were starting out good AFG please don't drop the ball now that the goal line is in sight.

Ah heck. You all know that those fine folks are doing their dead level best - and if there is any delay it is due to forces totally beyond their control. They are the best people in DC/MD/PA.

(My grant numbers available upon request to any FEMA employers or contractors reading this)

And to all those that want to call me a suck up? Too bad I thought of it first! LOL

1199As may not be here yet but that may because they're still asking questions for clarifications on some apps. Just had to clarify a nice MDT regional in the NE, answered several more late last week. No 1199As showing on them yet but should be sooner than later. They may just be storing some up rather than doing the smaller releases all week.

Reminds me of that old cartoon with the buzzards "patience hell, I'm gonna kill something!" Hopefully something will break loose this week and it will be full steam ahead again. I still believe there will be some departments with a Merry Christmas grant award this year. " Yes, Virginia there really is a Grant-A-Claus"

As Tom Petty says, the waiting is the hardest part.

    Dear FEMA Clause,

I checked it early this morning, around 9, and nothing there. Later on, it showed up.
