I'm in the same boat. Not nine of them, but three with nothing going on. Apparently the EF-5 sob-story isn't working well enough.

Well 2 of my reg comms already have 1199a so they are doing them.I am expecting a deluge of comm grant requests this year but if they are smart they had better be prepping already or it is going to be too late.

Had an e-mail from a dept that wanted to know what they would need to do to be narrowband compliant just this week. Like they think it's just going to take the flip of a switch.
I wonder what will happen when folks are not compliant come next January?
    Will the FCC step in?

If they are not going to be compliant in time, NOW is the time to start filing the waiver request, and I suspect just lack of funds is not going to be a very good excuse.

Shady salespeople are going to be turning in agencies that are not on narrowband, trying to get more sales....

I've got nothing yet and one of mine SHOULD get flagged in tech review for critical infrastructure.

Not to burst your bubble but out of 500+ apps I can think of maybe 3 that don't have CI. It's not a primary determinant anymore since the most critical areas have been getting regular DHS money to handle such things too.

    Default Critical Infrastructure

Critical Infrastructure is not a automatic "move to peer review" this year.

It was taken out of last years grant too, not that it ever made any real difference.

Clear your history & cache, it's probably the same undocumented feature of Internet Explorer that I get every now and again on the app site. "Microsoft, even we don't know where our software is going today..."

    Question

So is there any rhyme or reason to the order in which 1199's are issued? This whole process seem a little unorganized (cough cough, federal government, cough cough) to me...

In general it's done high score to low score until all funds are accounted for. Some variations on geography if a lot of apps from one state are all in the same range, but otherwise it's just high to low.

Yes, most of us would like to know that too but, even if the awards start this week or next there is no guarantee that your departments name would be on it yet. The award s will stretch out for several months so be prepared and be patient. The prudent thing to do at this point is start planning and researching your project for 2012 AFG so that in the event you are funded for this year, you are ready to go. If you get the dreaded DJ notice then all you will have to do is revamp and update your 2011 AFG and resubmit after tuning it up. Don't wait for AFG to act, take it upon yourself and be proactive now.

Is there any way to know for how long to look for 1199's? I know I am like alot of guys that keep looking and coming up empty. Is it still early? I know the awards will go for a few months but when will the 199's quit coming?
