Fdny hiring process - question

Hey guys,
new to this forum and have a general question about the hiring process for the fdny. I took the exam not too long ago and i am wondering if my past use of an ssri in the past for gastrointestinal problems would disqualify me. I used to suffer from stomach problems due to anxiety and my doctor prescribed me some paxil for a few years to take and it sure worked. I am no longer on this drug and i know this will come up during my background check so i am wondering if this is an automatic disqualification? What do you think forum? Let me know.

I was sure it does according to a few people i talked to... just wanted to get an idea from other people on this forum... So is it possible for me to still pass the psych if i explain why i was on an anxiety medication for a few years? from what i hear, this is a NO NO and a disqualification fast.

well according to the many posts i read and others I have talked to, they said that the hardest part of becoming a firefighter is passing the fdny psyche. And past prescription medication for anxiety is a big red flag according to them. Personally I do not have any mental condition or illness, just past symptoms of anxiety that took a tole on my stomach. But I feel that If i do not make it to fdny it will be because of my past use of an SSRI. Anyway, thank you for responding. I guess we will see...
