    Default Pay for Spray?

Saw this link on CNN today.

    http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t2#...for-spray.wpsd

Never heard of this anywhere else. Firefighters staged down the street but don't put out fire because homeowner did not pay the fee? Always assumed that fires would be put out regardless (safety reasons etc.)

Anybody else have this policy in their area?

Read all about it here (Pay for Spray).
Opinions my own. Standard disclaimers apply.

    Afraid not.
I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.

All FDs are "pay for spray."
Who pays for rigs, fuel, insurance, training, buildings, etc? And that is before we get past pay/volunteer. Payment falls on taxpayers or through legal charitable donations, or in some cases, subscriber fees. Ignoring payment doesn't mean you get a free ride when you need a service. C'mon man....these communities need to pony up in some manner like everyone else.
I can't fault the FD as they actually get docked ISO points inside the city for answering calls outside their corporate limits.
