Anyone who applied get an email about the test date yet? I know the test date will be between Jan 10th - 12th. But I haven't seen anything yet. The website does have an email address to follow up with if we don't hear anything by Jan 6th.

Got my email yesterday as well. Is everyone going for just the written test? A friend of mine who applied said she got an invite for the test and an interview, all in the same day

So who all went and applied with Cobb. They told us they had about 2000 applicants for 20 to 30 spots total.

Damn 2000 applicants.. Atlanta Fire could only get around 400 for the last time they were open in April and you'd think they would have more since its a Dept people know of from all over.
God Bless those in the process! lol

That really opened my eyes when I heard that 2000 applicants applied...I remember the last time I was in this process they took the first 400...then I guess they didnt get enough good applicants so they brought in the next 400 applicants...
Good luck to every one

I thought the 2000 apps was normal. The fact that they invited 1600 to take the test made me feel less special. Cobb made it easy to apply. City of Atlanta application requires a lot more hoops. I guess that's why Cobb got so many applicants.

2000 really isn't that bad. I drove up from N Florida. Many depts in FL have over 4000 applicants when a big dept does a hiring, from what i've seen.

Check your "application status" online at the cobb county web site where you submitted your initial app. Just checked mine and the status changed from "scheduled for written exam" to "scheduled for physical agility." Hoping that means I made it to next phase. No formal notification yet though.

Firepat and Grellopc, I wouldn't give up on it yet -- the sheet they handed out to us after we tested said they will inform us by email or mail, and candidates will be processd in test score order. They may just not be though processing the whole list yet.
