Hello All! I am going to buy some replacement station/wildand boots. Our department has a pretty diverse mix of structural/wildland/rescue and EMS.
We have dedicated structural boots for use with our bunker gear. I am looking primarily for station/rescue/wildland boots.
What brand/model do you use, what is the best/most comfortable you have worn?
I'm going to make a decision in the next 24 hours, so any input you can provide is much appreciated.

Thorogoods with the lace in zipper kit. I cant find the name(firewalker ?) -rated for wildland - no break in
I have both Globe's version and Haix's version of the dual purpose boots. The Globe's were issued by the USAR task force I am on and I bought the Haixes. I would buy either pair again, great boots.

Just bought the globe boots, they are the best I've ever had. My old department had the Warrington Pro...(my new dept has the Rangers) but the globes are above and beyond how comfortable those Warringtons were
Just an update. I bought the Haix Fire Hikers through the haixbootstore.com and saved a bit of money. Bought them for around $250 when they normal run $300. Seem to be pretty good. Haven't had much fire use on them even though we are in summer time. They make a "thump" sound when I walk, but they aren't heavy. Don't get them if you want to sneak up on somebody!
Don't forget to take your work purchases off your taxes.

I've got the Thorogood's with the zipper, good, comfortable, composite toe cap. But I should have bought a half size smaller. They run big.
Whatever brand you get, I'd get something that either comes with a zipper, or that you can lace some in. That way you don't have to clomp around the station in them all day. You can wear lighter shoes in the station. Save your knees and back.
