So, you're all by yourself and you've ordered some pizza for dinner. The pager goes off. Pizza is on the way. What do you do?
I don't want to get banned from Pizza Hut deliveries by having them show up at an empty house, so what I've come up with is go to the call and then swing by the pizza hut afterwards and beg for forgiveness.
Any better ideas?
(Hasn't happened to me, but then again, my pizza hasn't gotten here yet).

There will be other calls. It's not worth screwing some minimum wage kids over.

Wow... life is really just full of these tough decisions.
I am now a past chief and the views, opinions, and comments are mine and mine alone. I do not speak for any department or in any official capacity. Although, they would be smart to listen to me.

Lighten up Francis. We can't talk about SCBA and MVAs all the time.

Pick up a phone type device and call them
Ask them to deliver to the fire scene

So far we haven't had that problem. But the local delivery knows if we're out on a call to come back later on, and they come back with hot pizza not luke warm.

You said pizza, then you said Pizza Hut. Which is it? I am confused now.
Anyways, if you NEED to go to the call, go, and let them know what happened. They will most likely respond with a FRESH HOT pizza, and give it to you. (You best tip that delivery guy well, he is the one out the money twice for trying to make that delivery)
If it happens weekly, they may start griping a bit.
If it is like so many calls, where you KNOW your participation is not going to make a difference (and 99% of the time it is not, unless you are superfirefighter and indispensible) then sit at home, chow down on the pizza with the family, and listen to the call on the radio.

How about not stuffing your face with unhealthy, ****ty garbage and worrying about something other than stuffing your face with unhealthy, ****ty garbage.

My thought as well. Just let 'em know if you aren't there, you'll pick it up on the way home. And if they do that make sure and give them a tip. And when you guys have a long training session order from them. After they get to know you, you may start to get the fireman's discount.
(Just don't EVER ask for it)

You MUST respond to the page...It might be an MVA involving your pizza delivery guy....
I don't know the etiquete beyond responding....But, I've had to call em after a run and I can honestly say I got the pie late and luke warm...A coward stands by and watches wrongs committed without saying a word...Any opinions expressed are purely my own and not necessarily reflective of the views of my former departments

If you eat pizza hut pizza, missing your delivery would be a godsend.

What if the fire is at Pizza Hut?
I'd respond and call them on the way. They may deliver it to the station for you or to the scene even if you arrange it.
